The game is easy to play and although you don't really go to classes (not like normal school - go to class each and every day), it is still a wonderful recreation of the HP world and Hogwarts. From the movie's and the books, what's portrayed brings all the awe and the excitement when you first saw/read about Hogwarts. There are easter eggs everywhere! I do wish you could interact more with your "friends" especially after the main quest line is over and you're just going around trying to maximize your achievements. You see your co-adventurers around, but you can't interact with them. It's like they don't even know you or just shared a dangerous life altering event with you. The world outside of Hogwarts (surrounding countryside) is vast and diverse. There is danger everywhere and the sooner you level up your skills and get used to assigning the spells you want to use for certain situations, the better. I can duel and fight large crowds in the open (like 10 vs you), but I chose the stealth play style so I could thin out the bad guys before being spotted or forced to fight them face to face. But if you look online, there's a play style for everyone - even those that want to dabble in the dark arts (and not go to Azkaban for it). ... show more

This is exactly what I was looking for in a Wizarding World game. The exploration and story is amazing. I bought a new console just to play this game and it was definitely worth it. The world and spells are designed very well, looking just like the movies.

Don't listen to the haters, this game is great, not perfect but definitely worth the price tag. I have already done two playthroughs, both Slytherin, currently on a Raven Claw playthrough. The graphics are amazing, the story is good enough to keep you tuned in but it's the exploration and combat that really sell it for me. I'm hoping the massive success of the game will encourage the devs to put out some DLC for the game or begin working on a sequel. ... show more

I'm glad I purchased this game and didn't get sucked into all the politically correct non sense that's surrounding it. It's a pretty great game. Design is great. Story is great. Game play is great. Only thing I didn't care for was with purchasing it off of Amazon. While every where else, you got early access to the game and the game on release day. I received my copy almost a week after it's release. Making me reconsider preordering future games off of here. ... show more

My SO and I love this game, we grew up with Harry Potter and it's so much fun to explore the locations in the world we've read about and seen in the movies. The story is easy to pick up and put down when you need to, and every way you look is a painting. It's a fun combat system which feels powerful and diverse but not too fiddly. This game looks so good, is so immersive, and is a ton of fun. I don’t have the hand-eye coordination for most modern games but I was happy to see that I could adjust the difficulty to story mode so I can play and not worry about dying all the time.

Absolutely love the combat and graphics. I'm still in the "early" quests(just unlocked broom) and so far alot of the main quests are pretty cheesy/easy. The meaningless button-prompting in some of the quests made me realize that this game is meant for children, but with varying combat difficulties for older players. It also did not take long to notice that the developers copy+pasted things from other games. It feels like a combination of AC Odyssey/Valhalla and Witcher 3 Wild Hunt. Especially the dialogue choice screens. They are EXACTLY like Wild Hunt. Even using the same icons. Considering the games released by the developer before this, I can get over it. It is a fun game and leagues better than what they've released before. But it is hardly anything innovative. 4 stars because I am enjoying it and still pretty early into the game. Edit: Now that I have beaten the game, I brought rating down to 3 stars. This is far more of a children's game than I had hoped. I still love the general combat and the in-game world. But the story felt so rushed and inorganic, too many meaningless dialogue 'choices', and the amount of mechanics taken from other successful games has changed my opinion alot. ... show more
