This product has got to be the winner of the “Most Stupidly Designed Thing of the Year” award First, what they call a User Manual was clearly written by a non-English speaker with poor translation skills. Be prepared for come interesting things in it. You get told to not use the item above 45 C or below 0 C. Hum…. How many of you keep fish at the freezing point of water. Then again, the same could be said about being warned to not use above 113 F (who keeps fish at that temperature?). Moving on, the unit comes with enough in the way of extension wiring and tubing that you can almost use it from a separate room. Not a very smart product design. Oh, and you get a curious black foam filter that appears to only serve the purpose of making you scratch your head in confusion. The package list includes 2 wire clamps that those of us in the real world would actually call twisty ties — not clamps. But that wasn’t enough for the low IQ designers of this nightmare. Also included is a “Lengthening sand washing Head.” The name alone shows that the author of the manual doesn’t have a firm grasp on how to use capitalization. Then again, that part serves no purpose because it doesn’t actually fit anything. There is another useless part, “Filter.” It is supposed to be attached to a fitting at the top of the assembly, right below the handle. If your goal is to make a mess, this part is for you. If installed, then, once you turn the pump on, water will start spraying out of the base of the “Filter”, making quite a mess. The filter is so small that it will plug up in minutes, making it rather useless. The manual states that these filters can be rinsed and reused - which is simply not true. Never shown in the manual is that you should actually attach the plastic hosing (oddly called “Water Pipe”) to that fitting on the handle. Now, when activated, water will flow up the pumping unit and out the tubing into a bucket that you had better have in place. Just be warned that the flow rate is so high that it will fill a 3 gallon bucket in about 90 seconds. Another warning. Turning off the pump does NOT stop the flow of water as the tubing will continue to act as a syphon. Be sure to lift the pump end out immediately after turning it off. Totally missing from the User Manual is information on basic maintenance. So, for your reading pleasure, here is what you need to know. There is a screw on ring at the base of the pump unit. Once removed, you can then remove the fitting at the base. This will expose the impeller, for removal and cleaning.     • Really built for big tanks

I bought this product so i could clean my tanks without really having to do water changes and it works very well. However i wouldnt recommend it for smaller tanks. The recirculation and filtration do a pretty good job but the pressure on the pump causes a lot of turbulence in the tank.

I liked the product. It had great suction. I thought was a perfect buy. It was convenient. The interchangeable ease to change out the water was perfect. The longevity of the product was disappointing. It stopped working already!!!

Nice product but the plastic is not very durable and it broke within the first 5-10 uses. If the product was not as fragile I would buy again as it worked well.

Simply do not buy this for a 10 gallon tank probably nothing smaller than 20 gallon. It so large that it is very hard to use to vacuum and impossible to vacuum while doing a water change. Within mins the water line will be too low to continue to vaccuum. And if you are trying to use the filter part to put water back in while vacuum you will end up getting water outside of the tank as its hard to maneuver being so large for a smaller tank. With a 20 gallon or more tank I do believe it would be awesome. But nearly useless for anything smaller. ... show more

This is more convenient for water changes than a siphon style. However this product is a copy of a Hyger made product. I'd suggest getting the Hyger version for a few more dollars, instead of this one. However, if you just want a pump with a tube attachment, this will work well.

It's wonderful. But the instructions were a little vague and there isn't safety instructions that most fish keepers are already smart enough to think about like rinsing and how many times a filter sponge should or shouldn't be used. It's cool, but the return water free falling back to the tank is risky. Design the return flow to be just under the surface of the water and I'd be like BING! ... show more
