The pedals require you to pull the "trigger" inside of the loop of the pedal for them to fold. Much better design than others I've seen that can accidentally be folded while riding. Fantastic build quality too. They are a bit small, but the clever design more than makes up for it.

The pedals are made fairly well. The 9/16 stud on the left one was slightly wider than the hole on the crank arm. Kinda felt like it was cross threaded but it wasn't. The right pedal went in without that issue. They feel solidly made. They are too small for my size 13 feet. I can't get the wide part of my foot on the peddle in the right place without too much foot hanging off the side. The center part of the pedals are aluminum. It felt like the plastic part sloped away from the center just enough to notice, but it looks level. It feels like my feet would slip off them pretty easily if they were muddy or wet. Because of the above, I will not be using them long term. I have already purchased a different set. I wouldn't recommend these for BMX or MTN biking. If you really need the fold up pedal feature, these would be a good option for city riding. I would not get them as your everyday flat pedals if you have larger or wider feet. ... show more

The paddle needs a thin wrench to tight and it didn’t come with but u can use an Allen #6 to tight from back or it. It feels pretty solid over all.
