I use these when piecing quilts. I was skeptical about these bobbins thinking that they must use inferior thread or the would cause a bobbin mess in my machine, but, I was wrong. These bobbins work very well in my Juki TL-2010Q, I don't run out of bobbin thread as often, don't have to wind bobbins, and will save me money because I will not have to wind bobbins with my more expensive quilting thread. I would have given them 5 stars, but the bobbins are slightly smaller than normal bobbins, therefore making it difficult for me to load in my machine without falling out of the bobbin case. If your only option are these, they'll do fine. However, they have a consistency problem. Some rolls are wound to too tight, some are wound too loose. The biggest issue is that many have been wound to large and don't fit the bobbin case properly. You can solve that issue by unspooling some of the thread. In currently halfway through the box and won't be buying these again. Edit: My opinion hasn't changed, but a lot of the 1 star reviewers don't seem to understand that these are not for everyday sewing and mostly for machine embroidery. If you're looking to make clothing with these, look elsewhere, this is not meant to be for durable seams. And the paper sides are standard and in some cases, you can get them with no sides. The paper isn't an issue when used right. However, I still only recommend these as a last resort. ... show more
