  • Works Great!
When it arrived I took it out and went first thing to four old T-posts that had been in the ground for probably 50 years. They were rusted and bent. This tool pulled them right out of the ground without much effort at all. One post didn’t have the fence tabs on it so I just got some chain and used the hook on the puller to wrap the chain around the post and yank it up. Two of these T-posts had the spade on the bottom so they weren’t going to be easy to pull up without a tool. This tool is the one for the job. Well made and stout! Mark one up for an American made product! ... show more

  • Worked as advertised
Easy to use, only issue was the pin holding the hook to the popper fell out in the middle of the woods. Luckily I heard it hit the ground and was able to find 2 of the 3 pieces.

  • Post puller
I used the post puller today. It is really heavy duty and pulled the post easily. I recommend it.

  • Who knew you'd need one of these?
A contractor built a small pen on our property and then left without removing it. We purchased this thing to remove the fence posts. Bing-bang-boom! We used this Post Popper to remove them all in a jiffy. We had budgeted an hour to remove the corral, but it only took a half an hour. Bam! It works great! [Edit: I used this tool with a vice grips and a chain to remove five copper grounding rods. The rods had been pounded four feet into the ground. I thought removing them would be impossible. NOT! The key is to grip the rods with the vice grips first and rotate them a few turns in the ground. Then you can begin pulling them up. Slowly, methodically. They came out! It took strength and grit, but they came out! All five of them came out in a single afternoon under the blazing sun! So this thing has paid for itself twice now!] The only downsides are that it is fairly heavy, has some sharp edges and corners on it that will draw blood if you're not careful, and it has a wicked pinch point that will take off a finger if you're careless. The final thing we find lacking is that there is no strap or clip to keep it folded together. Such a thing would make it much easier to move and store. I will make my own strap for this purpose. but after this single usage, I'm not sure I'll ever need it again. LOL. Nevertheless, this is one of those miscellaneous tools that is probably good to have around the house, particularly if you are in a rural area or out in the 'burbs. [Edit: This has become my new favorite brute force tool!] ... show more

  • Works Great for Removing T-Posts, Very Sturdy...
The media could not be loaded. I used this Post Popper to remove 40+ t-posts that were part of an old garden fence. Removing the old fencing consumed the majority of my time and effort, this tool made short work of the t-posts once that was gone. I removed these 6-foot t-posts in early April when the ground was wet, they were driven 2 foot into clay soil and had been there for at least 5 years. If anything, the ground was probably a little too wet in some areas and the base of the jack (and 2x4 scrap I put under it) sank down into the wet clay sometimes when under a load. It took me a few minutes to figure out how to best use this tool, but it was pretty smooth sailing after the first couple of t-posts. I had the most success keeping the jack roughly parallel to the t-post (otherwise it tended to pull the post sideways instead of up), starting with the jack handle near level to the ground or just slightly raised (I couldn't get enough leverage to start the post moving if the handle was raised too high initially), and by lifting out the post with several small moves (as opposed to one continuous push). The working end of the jack handle is specifically designed to hook on to a t-post and will ratchet down the t-post when the jack handle is lifted and then lock into place when the handle is pushed downward, so you don't have to continually reposition or reattach it once the once the post starts lifting out of the ground. I did not use the included chain hook and actually removed it from the jack because the cotter pin that holds it in place kept coming out. This Hi-Lift post jack is very sturdy and well worth the money. I would expect this tool to last for a very long time... aside from a little mud, it still looks and performs like new after removing 40+ t-posts... would highly recommend!!! ... show more

  • Does Exactly What It Says It Will
I bought this to lift 6 steel posts from an old chain link fence out of the ground. Each post was embedded in 100 lbs of concrete. I honestly did not have high hopes that it would work. I figured though that if it just helped me to loosen them up, then I'd be happy. My wife thought I was crazy and was wasting my time and money by buying it. To my surprise and hers, it pulled the posts right out of the ground, concrete and all. Literally...fully out of the ground. The first 2 posts took 45 min each and some sweat. That's when I was still trying to figure out how to use it. There is definitely a technique and learning curve to it, so keep at it if it's not going well; you'll eventually get the hang of it. Each remaining post took 5-10 minutes tops and were MUCH easier. It's all about leverage. I ended up getting all the posts out in just over 2 hours (including the first 2)...I had initially anticipated 2 days. I then used it to remove 6 pressure treated 5x5 wooden round posts (no concrete in those). Those were super simple...although impossible to remove by hand without digging them out. The most difficult part, once you get past the learning curve, is getting the chain to stay at the bottom. I bought the matching chain "Hi-Lift PP-350 Post-Popper Chain and Slip Hook". The instructions say to just wrap the chain around the bottom, and lift. But if you do that, the chain will just slip right off and won't do anything. So instead, I wrapped it around once as tightly as possible, and then slid the U-shaped steel piece from a heavy duty pad lock, through 2 links of the chain. Then I wrapped the remaining chain around the post. Even then it could sometimes slip out, but once you got it right, you were good to go and the posts popped right out. I rarely leave reviews, but this product worked so well and it was such a life-saver for me that I had to leave one. ... show more
