Hate to tell you this, but it appears I got these shortly after this style was introduced and, I believe, they priced them lower to get some sales (and reviews) going. I paid $28. Now I see them priced at a normal Hey Dude level, so I feel lucky. Still, I'm not writing this positive review because of the deal I got, I actually like them. Originally, I balked at the higher prices for a shoe style that has many competitors with similar style but lower prices. But as I read the other shoes' reviews, I kept seeing mentioned they were not as good as "my Hey Dudes," and then I lucked out and found these. I like the style and the sole provides the arch support I was looking for. One ding I give them is lack of half sizes. As Hey Dude suggested, I sized up. (Amazon's system auto-suggested the next size down, so I guess it's up to you if you want tighter or looser fitting shoes). The full size appears to be accurate and I had that extra room in the length. First try-on and they felt too loose, but I tightened the elastic shoes laces (by tying a new in-line knot) and that made them fit well enough. It took a couple of days of wear to loosen up the tongue (that gets cinched up when you tighten the laces) but then they are pretty comfortable and secure. Another ding is I cut off the ends of the tightened shoes laces to make them look normal and that left them frayed; the original ends were dipped in a clear coating to keep them from fraying. As you could probably guess, they are marked up because of the branding. But, still, I think they put more effort into style and, hopefully, quality. Of course, if you can find them at a special price, that's a good time to buy your first pair to see if they are worth it. ... show more
