Fantastic breastplate! I have a broad chested quarter horse and this breastplate fit him very nicely. It is made of great quality leather that is cushioned for over the neck so as not to rub the withers and is very easy to clean. I LOVE the clips for between the legs and for the two D-rings... makes putting on and taking off the breast plate so easy. The only thing I don't like is that the two side connections (to the saddle billets/girth) seem to be a little long and thus the elastic part is loose, even with punching in a couple of holes. As a result, there is quite a bit of extra leather that needs to get tucked away. However, I chalk this up more to my horse being weird shaped than manufacturing. Regardless, my saddle (and my derriere) are not going anywhere with this on, whether going Cross country, stadium, trail, or just training. The Running attachment also attaches via clip, which is quite convenient. ... show more

Got this in cob as i figured I needed, and it is true to size! My appy normally fits a cob and this is perfect for her. This came nice and supple out of the box. It sadly does not match my HDR figure 8 though. The leather is very nice, as HDR normally has. I love all the hardware and buckles and i can just wipe sweat off this. 5 stars and recommending to all my friends for the price! My appy doesn't use a running martingale as she was trained better than that, but good thing is you can take it off! I took some photos with it on though. I took her for her first trail ride alone in this and she was fantastic and the sweat wiped off it and it looked brand new again. I will be buying a black one for showing. ;) ... show more

I love this breastplate! It looks great on my horse, matches all my tack, and most importantly does its job! My saddle stays in place. I bought the horse sized one - I own a Percheron/Paint Cross who is about 16.1 and he's less Percheron-like than most crosses I've seen, but he does have a pretty thick crest. I would say the horse size is just right, but he does wear most of the attachments at the tightest hole possible...it could fit a much larger horse than him. I think the quality of the leather is amazing, the stitching is really well done. The metal is of good quality. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone looking for a 5-point breast plate. ... show more

Review of black cob sized 5 point breastplate. I purchased this for my 14.3 hand Welsh cross mare. She has a very round build. And my saddle tends to slip, despite having a non slip pad under the saddle pad. This 5 point design definitely helps to decrease the amount of saddle movement without interfering with her movement. I’m giving this four stars because it’s amazing but has bad sizing. I bought a cob size for my 14.2 rescue gelding, but it was far too large. I was expecting it to be because I checked the sizing, but it ended up fine because on every single piece of this breast plate can have added holes. This is great quality I’ve had it since March 15th and only piled it once, about 3 days after getting it. I also want to add, this is very easy to add holes on every piece (like I said before) so even if it’s a little big you can make it fit, that is with a little bit of effort! And I just want to say, don’t worry about it, just buy it it’s amazing and if it doesn’t fit it’s easy to fix to your horses size. ... show more

This item was made very very well. It fits my five 2/2 Arabian half quarter horse perfectly. All the pressure points are covered with a soft faux fur product. Everything is very sturdy and it has kept my saddle super secure. I would recommend this for anyone whose saddle slips on their horse.

This is a great quality breastplate. The leather feels strong, the sheepskin is thick and soft, and all of it looks really nice. Very easily adjusted. I did have to return the Full size I bought because it just swallowed my TB's (relatively large) shoulders even on the tightest settings, but the Cob size I bought in exchange fits him quite well. I'd recommend the Full size only for WBs or drafts. ... show more

Only have used it once, but it looks and feels really nice to me! Really happy with it. I bought the cob size, and it fits my 16.2hh thoroughbred with high withers and a narrow chest, perfectly.
