It’s pretty, but won’t last long. Only wore this thing for about six months till I got tired of trying to repair it after every practice. It started to wear and tear only three months in, but I kept repairing it to stretch out my time with it due to paying such a high price for this gi (Compared to other cheaper brands) I was told Hyabusa was premium, and maybe at one time they were. This is my favorite gi so far! It felt great right out of the box, the gold weave material is heavier than the single weave but lighter than the double weave. Been rolling in this gi for a month now and it hasn't slowed me down at all. The only thing you should be aware of is their size charts are a bit different than most other charts, especially if you dry your gi as I do. These are pre washed but will still shrink in the dryer. I'm an A3 in most gi brands, their chart had me as an A2. I ordered an A3 knowing it would shrink in the dryer, and it did about 3 inches. It shrunk down to the right size for me. If I'd gone with the A2 their chart recommend it would've been way to small. If you dry your gi go by the size you normally are in other brands. If your on the boarder get the larger size. However, if you hang dry your gi then you can probably go by the chart with no problem. ... show more

    • Be cautious of the dryer, just air dry it! Shrinks very easily.
I loved this Gi; super light, material is great, compliments all the time. Unfortunately, any type of interaction with the dryer meant the sleeves shrink, and shrink fast. It is no longer competition suitable as a result :(. It is 100% on my part there, if you're looking at this Gi definitely get it if you intend on only air drying it. Better than expected. I’m 6’1” and 220-240 depending on comp. I always go a4 and shrink down. I wore this gi unwashed for open mat today because I liked it so much. Arms and legs a wee long but expected as not shrunk to size yet. I did notice oddly what appeared to be wear on the knees that I would not expect in one hour of open mat. I’ll be watching this. So unshrunk arms and pants a bit long and shoulders perfect. Has me a bit concerned about shrinking but non the less in the dryer now...to get sleeves and pants perfect I’ll deal with any shoulder shrink. I love the gi. More impressive than SYR ( I have 5). Fuji (I have 3) and my one Origin. Love it. Update: washed hot dried hot. Sleeves and pants are perfect. I wish there was about 2 more inches to wrap around my torso in the kimono. Same issue with Fuji I like a bit more wrap. More importantly I've worn this in two days at two different gyms... Had a guy at each gym pause our roll to comment on the gi, the color the weight the patching.. ... show more

Really well made and materials are top of the line. By far the best Gi I have ever owned. I can see this lasting me for years. Liked it so much I already bought 2 of them. I do get a lot of complements from the guys at training. I washed them for the first time in cold water and then put my dryer on "Delicates-Low Heat". As expected with all Gis, they did shrink about 1.5 inches in length and width. Now they fit perfect. Make sure you buy them a little bit on the bigger side because they will shrink unless you hang dry only. Will definitely buy again. ... show more

This is one of the best deals on Gi's that you can get right now. If I didnt have 3 other Gi's, I would buy this in all three colors, especially the white one. Nonetheless, the blue one that I purchased is a good sturdy material and it is a dark blue, unlike most BJJ blue Gi's that are bright blue. My only complaint is that it runs a little small. I normally wear an A3 in almost every other Gi, but this one in an A3 is a little too tight. I wouldnt want to move up because it would be much too large, but it is a little snug. ... show more

This is a really nice-looking gi. Got loads of compliments from my teammates and questions about where I found it. I’m 6 feet tall and weight about 195 lbs. I bought an A3 and the fit is just about perfect. I’ve worn it for a few weeks to both BJJ and Judo and it’s holding up nicely. I wash it in cold water and air dry after every class to avoid shrinking. This is my third gi and, by far, my favorite. My son has a Tatami Estilo gi, which I would like to also try (which also is very nice looking and durable. He’s had his for almost 3 years and it still looks great. He goes to class 4-5 times a week) but I’ll be hard-pressed not to buy another Hayabusa. Highly recommend! ... show more

One of few products that live up to the hype. Fit a little just a little to snug at A5 but that’s just motivation to get my big a** down some lbs, lol. The Gi itself is amazing looks sick when you walk into your gym and put it on people NOTICE. When I rolled I was worried about the pants because they were just a bit snug. BUT!! They conformed to what I was doing and was super comfortable after 15 mins of rolling didn’t even think about them again. This truly is a Gi to put in as part of your gear. I wouldn’t use it as an everyday Gi I got mine for Tournament use but I’ll roll in class 1 a week with it, (I roll 10 times a week). That’s just me, everyone has there routine. All in all extremely happy with the purchase well well worth the money. For what your buying you will have a Gi that will last years rather then buying a $40 dollar Gi and having to replace it in a few months. Oh this may help: I’m 6.2 296lbs bought the A5. Fits literally just right Wash cold NEVER dry. Hayabusa has anything to test for big guys I’m more than happy to be there test subject. 😁 ... show more
