It's small but really well sculpted. The voice recording is spot on. This is one of my favorites. Highly recommended for the Potter collector. Dobby is alive!

This was the second one of these little talking Dobbys purchased, same seller through Prime. Amazon is awesome. The first one the batteries must of died and Amazon sent me a speedy replacement. I just have to return the first one. Both shipments came in tact & unbroken. The one that works, works great. Theres 7 phrases. 1. “Dobby never meant to kill only meant to mame or seriously injure.” 2. “Dobby only wants Harry Potter to be safe.” 3. “Dobby is free.” 4. “Harry Potter must not go back to Hogwarts of Witchcraft and Wizardry this year. Theres a plot, a plot to make most terrible things happen.” 5. “Dobby has no master. Dobby is a free elf and Dobby has come to save Harry Potter and his friends.” 6. “Dobby has heard of your greatness but never has he been asked to sit down by a wizard.” 7. “Dobby remembers how it was before Harry Potter triumphed over he who must not be named.” Just push button to hear each phrase.     • A pleasant little treat
Dobby stands upright by magnetism (a bit of natural magic offered by the Universe). Unfortunately, the device came with batteries that were almost depleted. So we had to put in new batteries. The voice is still not very loud but for the most part intelligible (taken from the sound track most likely). I wouldn't buy it for younger children but if they are old enough to read HP books, they're old enough for this. ... show more

I like the product, but the talking-feature is not working at all. When I press the button to prompt Dobby, it just gives out a very faint, crackling sound.

    • Such fun, but keep Dobby away from the oven!
Two super-strong magnets are glued into Dobby's feet so he can stand on the stand, but they're so strong the factory glue didn't hold them. Poor Dobby felt miserable for failing me, so once I got him calmed down (NOT EASY -- had to take away the lamp he was smashing on his head and then pry him away from the oven he was slamming closed on his foot!), I super-glued those bad boys into place and we've been happy ever since. Well, as happy as Dobby can be without Harry around. The toy is cute and the base plays fun Dobby quotes at the touch of a button. ("Dobby never meant to kill!     • Speech box is defective in current batch. DO NOT BUY this batch!
Item looks okay. I hate the florescent colors of his nails as they tried to make them look old but screwed up the color choice. It says there are different lines from movie, but my voice box only does 2 complete lines. It has others but the circuit is broken as I can hear some noise for a second but then nothing. Item is extremely fragile. Breaks even from table top drop height. This is my third gift I bought and all had the same issue of being fragile. Magnets don't hold well on the box but sticks firmly on general metal surfaces. Magnets are not stuck inside the feet properly so need to add some superglue. ... show more
