Sort of meh. It is polyester, it does stretch, it is thin and does comes with clasps to add The hood has a hooked end for additional wizardry detail. Unfortunately, mine did not come with the Gryffindor logo and is simply a witch like look without. Seems too pricey for what you get, but kids!

My daughter LOVES this! I, however, am a little disappointed in the quality. It has uneven seams on the end of the sleeves. There are a lot of places that aren’t “finished” threads hanging off that need to be secured. If they are just cut off, I’m worried about unraveling. The shoulder seam is not lined up well and there is a triangle that you can see through. I was worried that this would be a spot that would tear as soon as she started playing so I reinforced it. Be careful when opening the package... I had to see on a button and ribbon loop for closure because there was not one on the robe. Turns out there was a device that you have to attach to both sides of the robe. It had fallen out of the packaging when my daughter opened it. ...it didn’t really matter in my house, but it also did not come with the safety light that it was advertised with. ... show more

For $15, it’s pretty alright/good. Just like the other reviews said, there were some threads that were hanging when i got it but everything was a good with a pair of scissors. Nice, airy material. Comes open, no button thing to close it at the top. I’m satisfied with it because I read the reviews first and knew what to expect, which I think is very fair for the money - it makes for a great costume, I only plan on wearing it twice and live in AZ so I don’t care too much that it’s thin and airy, I actually prefer that!! I am an adult female, 5'6" and 150lbs and I bought the child's Large to use for myself as a harry potter robe for a Halloween costume- I specifically wanted a robe that didn't drown me, wasn't too hot (it's still hot down here in FL), not too long that I'd trip on, and didn't cost more than $20. This fit the bill. Sure the emblem is not a patch, it is an iron-on decal- but it still looks nice! The robe is a lightweight synthetic material that still drapes decently. Again, I wasn't looking for a heavy robe due to the warm climate. It also fit VERY well, surprisingly, in all areas- sleeves were long enough, it closed in the front, and it came down mid calf -perfect length! It looks like it was made to fit someone of my height, and has a look similar to that of a 3/4 length dress or overcoat. If you want the heavier robe with the embroidered decal, I believe that is the "deluxe" version. Somewhere along the way the reviews for this product and the reviews for that one got mixed up. This is the "cheaper" version but it is a good value fore the money. I am very happy and will be using this for many Halloweens to come. ... show more

Bought this for my daughters birthday and Halloween costume. She really liked it because she’s a big Harry Potter fan but I had a few complaints. The material is very thin and appears to be easy to rip. This is good for hot days but may be an issue in the future. The griffindor patch is also made of shiny plastic and is cheap looking. Finally, the stitching was poorly done so there are may frayed ends throughout the inside and part of the outside of the costume. Overall this wasn’t a bad purchase but the quality is inferior to many other costumes. ... show more

Arrived as expected. My daughter loved it. She had to wear a top and skirt underneath the robe as Hermione Granger. It is lightweight that was great because it didn't drag her down. It's a good product for the price. However, there was no button on both sides of the robe. Which was one of the main reasons why I bought it from among the other robes. There was only a piece of thread hanging, instead of the oriental button in the picture. I could've returned but the hassle is not worth it. I didn't contact seller nor Amazon, though. My daughter loved it for Halloween. It fit her perfectly. And price was great for the quality level in my opinion. I didn't love how it clasped together because we had to spend a few minutes getting the fabric turned just right before clasping so it looked good. I guess I could have cut off the several inches of excess seam threads because it was kind of just hanging out at the collar bone area. I bought my 7 yr old boy/girl twin's their Halloween Robe costume on here (both size medium). My son wanted to be Harry Potter and my daughter wanted to be Hermione. Hermione's robe was around $4.00 more for the exact same robe as Harry Potter's. The ONLY difference is their sku and item #'s and the picture (on the cardboard) depicting a boy for Harry Potter and a girl for Hermione. Although, the picture on the Harry Potter looks like the robe is lighter in color, in reality it is jet black like the one in Hermione's and Hermione's picture. The cut, the length, the color, the design, and the hood are EXACTLY the same. If my daughter did not care if her robe had a boy on it we would have gotten that for her because it was cheaper. But, she and among other girls (even if it were the reverse for boys, too) would have a fit if she saw a boy advertised on her costume even though it was cheaper and even though it is the same robe. Other than charging me $4.00 more for the "girl" version of the same robe, the quality is just the same as if you bought this at Target or the Party Store, etc. ... show more
