Well with driving to school more often, I now exhaust my undershirt supply faster, and with that, I needed more of them. I generally wear Hanes Medium so I'm fairly familiar with how they fit, and got these in Medium. I'm aware that the supposedly "same" product can cost differently in different stores, but it's generally due to quality not price-matching. I've purchased Hanes undershirts from the Naval Exchange (NEX) so I'll be using those as the comparison. Upon running out of my existing shirts, I opened these babies up...it's like slipping on velvet. Jeebus, when the tag says "Our Most Comfortable" they MEAN IT. A little longer than the ComfortSoft series (don't know if there's a official difference), but I'd say that's a plus for not slipping out the pants when you move about. Cooling ability is about the same for any cotton undershirt. So how do they wash? I washed all but one during laundry day; standard coin operated washer and dryer, just liquid detergent. After pulling 'em out, I compared a washed one to a brand new unwashed one. The washed one still retained most of it's softness (I reckon you'll need to use softener to maintain that, totally worth it for these shirts), enough for me to discern it from my other white undershirts from touch alone. Shrinkage? Hardly, when I laid the washed and unwashed shirt side-by-side, I couldn't really see (or feel when worn ) a difference. So in short, the comfort is really nice but doesn't flap like a flag when not tucked in. Very little shrinkage, the thickness of the fabric is probably Hanes best for their undershirts. I highly recommend getting these if you need'em, you won't regret it (unless you pick the wrong size). Can't really say there's anything wrong with them other than there aren't more included!

These tee shirts are very comfortable! The neck opening (collar) fits snugly around the neck (but not too tightly). Therefore, these tee shirts are a good choice when wearing a shirt and tie. With other tee shirts I've purchased, the tee shirt collar openings are too big (and start to stretch out and become "floppy"). This has been the case with other brands, and even with the Hanes "Classic" tee shirt.) When the neck opening is too big, it visibly bulges below the buttoned collar of a dress shirt (when wearing a tie). With these "Hanes Comfort Soft Crew Neck" tee shirts, the collar is nice, snug, comfortable. It's also invisible beneath your dress shirt and tie--no bulge! The snug fit and softness of the collar also make these tee shirts more comfortable. (I even find less stiffness in my neck at the end of the day, compared to when I wear a "floppy neck" tee shirt, for some reason.) These tee shirts are worth every penny!

These shirts are advertised as Hanes ComfortSoft, however when I received them they had no packaging indicating that they were actually Hanes. They do have a stamped logo inside the neck, but that is the only thing that would indicate they are actually Hanes. I am not sure if these are a lower version made for a re-seller or wholesale but these do not feel anything like other Hanes shirts I have owned over the last 15 years. They are a strange cut and they cut into your arm pits and they are rough. I have owned these and worn them for months thinking they might just need to be washed and broken in but there has not been any change. I addressed these with the seller and they were nice enough to send me another order of the exact same shirts. I once again wrote to them but this time outside the return window and they would not offer a refund. The 4 and 5 star reviews on this product must be fake.

These were slightly too large when I first got them, but after a single wash they tightened up just a tiny bit, and now they fit great. So far, they are keeping their bright white appearance after several washes. Keep in mind, these work best as undershirts, or maybe to sleep in...you wont be wearing these out on the town as a standalone because the fabric is a little thinner, but I think that's to be expected. The length on these are just right as well, just enough to tuck in and keep in place, but not too much if you want to leave it un-tucked for whatever reason, The price and availability on these particular shirts fluctuates WILDLY, so keep in mind that you may be able to wait out for a better price.

We have purchased these shirts on multiple occasions as we love the quality and the tagless aspect. However, our most recent order was smaller than usual and shrunk in the machine. We did not have that issue in the past. Consider ordering a size up to allow for shrinkage after washing.

UPDATED one year later... CHECK THE SHIRTS YOU RECEIVE to be sure they are not the "Heavyweight" comfortsoft! I bought more of these, and I (like others in recent reviews) received the "heavyweight" version. I already washed them before I realized they were not the right ones, so I didn't even try to return them. Based on the number of other reviews stating these are "heavier and not as soft as they used to be," I suspect even more people are receiving the "heavyweight" product and not realizing it. I wish I'd noticed sooner that it was not what I ordered. It actually says "Heavyweight" on the printed "tag" inside the back of the shirt. We will see how the husband likes them. As I wrote below in my previous review, these are the only shirts he wears. *********************** I've tried to buy my hubby expensive Polo and Calvin Clein under shirts, and he always asks for more of these. They fit great, wash well, and are comfortable. He's a small guy (5'7" and 130 pounds), and the small is perfect for him.
