We purchased this for my grandmother’s ashes. The inurnment was at Arlington National Cemetery, and they have very strict rules about the size of the urn. This was one of the few options that was small enough to fit and large enough to hold all of an adult’s ashes. It’s very solid and the packaging ensured there was no damage during shipping. It comes with a velvet pouch that is much too tight a fit without quite a bit of struggle. We opted not to use the pouch anyway, because the wood is just beautiful. The lid fits snugly, but I didn’t see a way to secure it. Since the urn won’t be moved after placement in the niche, that isn’t a concerns for us. ... show more

Unfortunately, my brother passed away and I bought two of these to split the ashes with my other brother. These are so gorgeous. The wood is beautiful. I had first looked at other urns, but so happy I chose this one.

The urn is a very nice piece of craftsmanship. It’s perfect with the exception that the lid does not “seal like a vault” like a previous comment said. The lid just sits on top like the photo. No metal band or anything else to secure the lid. Otherwise it’s perfect.
