I bought this for a friend who swore he wouldnt bowl with me because I intended on using a Urethane ball this year (Pitch Black) because it ruins the lanes for reactive coverstocks. I hadn't bowled regularly since 1996. I recently decided to get back into bowling but the ball I purchased in '96 just wasn't doing the job. I used the black Hammer back in the 80's and wanted to get back to that power. Not only does this ball look good (purple happens to be my favorite color), it rolls smoothly down the lane and hits very hard on the back end. My average increased from the mid 120's to 160 in just 5 weeks. It works best on medium to light oil patterns. I'm very happy with this ball. ... show more

I never though I would become a urethane guy, but this is my go to on most patterns now. I have mine drilled a little more aggressive, but I feel like when you have such a huge transition in lanes at times, this gives me the ability to control the pocket the best. This ball HITS.
