My wife and I love trivial pursuit and other trivia games. After going through a lot, I saw on Twitter how Ken Jennings (74 game Jeopardy champion) and Richard Garfield (creator of Magic the Gathering) made a trivia game together. Sounded promising so bought it soon after. Now my wife and I might have a new favorite trivia game! The game is pretty simple to learn. There are 6 answers and 3 are correct while the other 3 are wrong. Roll the dice to determine the amount of spaces moved for a correct answer (there are 3 rounds), place bets on how many answers you know (only 1 wrong answer and you don't get to move on that question) and then reveal the answers. It's great because there are some really interesting questions, betting is involved to make it more interesting, and even someone who may not be a trivia buff can also compete since there are quite a few educational guesses. It comes with 500 trivia cards so it will last a good while (my wife, family and I have played it quite a bit and we're on about card 150). Wouldn't expect nothing less from Ken and Richard! Highly recommend for any trivia buff! ... show more

    • Don't expect it to be easy!
This is a lot of fun for all ages, but don't expect to know all of the answers. We played with 6 people for 3 days, all with 3 generations, 12 yo to 70+, several with advanced degrees. Rarely did anyone get all three right (one was the 12 yo), but more typical was one or two of the three correct. The only issue we had was trying to read the cards upside down or sideways depending on where you sat at the table, so we ended up passing the card around which extended the time needed for everyone to decide on their choices. While we were only using Deck 1 of 5, there were cards where each generation thought "Oh, I know this!" We were often wrong- resulting in a lot of laughs! I guess we are not quite as ready for 'Jeopardy' as we thought! My only suggestion for the developers would be to make the different decks "Easy", "Moderate" and "Hard", allowing the users to choose which difficulty to play. ... show more

fun game for a group of non BG players. price for the packaging was reasonable. for a group game it’s quick and fun, easy to learn. played twice, had fun. a hassle to reshuffle all five box of cards to put back in the box easily. the third play through brought some already read cards more often than not. cool concept great gambling mechanic, makes it enjoyable for nerds and bluffers alike. would enjoy seeing a second edition considering some of these critiques. all in all, good quick party gaming. ... show more

The board game you didn't know you needed. This game is great for trivia buffs and novices alike. It's also fun to play on family game nights. There's enough variety that after a handful of games we haven't had any repeats yet, and the scoring system works well so that you can easily catch up. The questions are interesting and fun but the instructions and board are terrible. The instructions should go through every senerio and give better instructions about points. Round three card has numbers in between circles. Only the person reaching the end seems to get points. You could be winning and then get to round three. The person that ends game by landing on the red 12 will most likely win the game. The whole point system and handing out little circles with the points and bonus points creates a mess. It would be much easier to keep score on paper and not hand out little circles. Having a regular board and moving pieces would be better. We ended up making up our own scoring system ... show more

I purchased this hoping it would lend itself to video playing, and it does. I gifted a copy to my niece in Toronto and my nephew on Vancouver Island for Christmas, and one for myself in California. We had such a good time we now have set a recurring time to play. The variety in trivia questions leads to conversation breaks throughout the game, which adds to the fun for us.     • Fun and simple, but difficult questions (Ken, you sly dog)
This game is fairly simple and straight forward once you play a couple times. We've played through one whole deck already, and while we've learned a lot, I do wish some of the questions were on the easier side. Most of them are extremely obscure and difficult to guess. Maybe if there were different levels of difficulty between decks it would be more encouraging and accessible. I'm a huge Ken Jennings fan so it's fun to see some of his personal influences on the game. ... show more
