Description

Gumout Starting Fluid helps engines start in all types of extreme weather, while conditioning fuel and engine parts to prevent friction and corrosion. Engines need the right conditions to perform properly. If temperatures drop too low, gasoline can have problems evaporating, making it harder to burn. Extreme humidity can also have an effect on fuel's performance. Gumout's Starting Fluid starts gasoline engines instantly, and is best used for fast, smooth starting in all weather conditions, helping extend the life of engine parts. Directions: See your vehicle owner’s manual for special instructions for your vehicle. Spray directly into carburetor, air cleaner or air intake for a few seconds, then start engine. Do not flood engine before using. In order to prevent a backfire, do not start engine with air filter off. Do not use while engine is running. Misuse of product can result in personal injury. Use only per label directions. Not for diesel fuel.

    • incredible product!
Size: 11 Oz (Pack of 1)
I tried to start a lawnmower which hadn't been used for about 3 years, knowing it would likely need for me to remove the carb bowl, etc. for cleaning as I've done dozens of times in the past on various equipment. After partially filling the tank and tugging the starter several times it was clear a tear-down was imminent, but just for fun I decided to order a can of Gumout starting fluid. As soon as I got my stuff I headed out to the shop and unscrewed the spark plug, shot a blast into the chamber, and replaced the plug. I didn't even yank that rope 20 inches before the engine fired right up! Of course it was only burning the starter fluid, so it only ran for about 8 seconds, but that was proof the engine is fine and a clog in the feed line was surely the target. A second shot - this time into the air filter intake- yielded the same result. The little engine could- and would- if she only got fed! As I removed the linkage and fuel line on the carb I noticed a little gob of built-up sediment that had settled right at the end of the fuel line, blocking any gas from making it into the throat. A shot of the starter fluid dissolved that stuff and also made everything else look sparkling clean within about 15 seconds! After re-assembling the carb and replacing a bit of fuel in the tank, I gave the mower another couple pulls to start working gas into the system. (Had this been the style of carb with a primer bulb a dozen pushes on that would have done the trick, but this is one of those new-fangled "ready-start" models, which often don't work as nice as they claim) Within 5 pulls I could hear the engine was beginning to draw fuel. On the 6th she started running, and starts by the second pull ever since. Although I knew from the start I was gonna have to flush the carb bowl and find the blockage, that can of Gumout really turned this repair into a fun little session! I'll never be without a can from now on, between lawn mowers and snow blowers, leaf blowers, and all the other toys that might need some convincing it's time to wake up after a long sleep... Highly recommended! ... show more
