  • Wish I Never Bought
Size: High-Rise Step-Up Color: White
I bought this step stool so that my two children could cook with me in the kitchen. I didn't realize until it was too late that the second step is too high and isn't deep enough. My 3 year old tried to turn around on the step, her foot slipped, and she broke her femur on the bottom step. She's now in a spica cast and I would do anything to have never bought the thing. ... show more

  • Nice solution for ensuring sink accesssability in a toddler
Size: High-Rise Step-Up Color: Natural
Hard to decide on a rating as very little to compare it to....that said, my son is trying to bathroom/potty train his 18 month old daughter. He wanted something that would allow her to get up to sink height to wash her hand and brush her teeth. We found this at a price point that was about 50 dollars less than other offerings and a few dollars more than some items that appeared to be not well made per the reviews. Initially I was concerned that this unit did not offer the same hand holds, as more expensive units, for my grand daughter to use as she was climbing the unit stairs but that concern proved to be unfounded. The unit arrived packed well and my son put it togeter in a few minutes. It does take up room in the bathroom but fortunately they have two so its not an issue. it does exactly what its supposed to. Its new so we cant comment on durability yet .Excuse the messy bath room. ... show more

  • Very good quality but bulky.
Size: One Size Color: White
Very good product, it is actully larger than expected, on one hand we were not expecting such size but at the same time since we got two daughters they can both ride at the same time so it ended up being good for us although we just kind of bulky for our kitchen I'm uploading a picture so you can take a look at the size it's very well-constructed very solid I would just prefer to be a little bit smaller. It comes with all of the required hardware you will just need one additional screwdriver ... show more

  • Two year old loves it! Still holding up 6+ months in!
Our 2 year old loves this stool! She loves to stand in it to have her snacks and eat meals. She will also stand in it to watch us make dinner. It is easy to move around but we put some rubber stoppers on the edge of it where it hits the counter just so it doesn’t slam into it. Perfect height for the counter and it doesn’t hit our hardware on our cabinets or drawers. 2 small children can fit in it as well. Our 3 year old nephew likes to stand in it with our daughter. Overall we love it! Update - over 6 months later and we love this even more. It has help up great.. no stain has dulled or rubbed off, and even though we.. I mean our daughter.. has been at times a little rough with moving it around, it still looks brand new. I use cleaner on it every day and the stain still looks perfect. This product is so worth the money.. just buy it :) ... show more

  • Great step stool for two year old
Size: High-Rise Step-Up Color: White
Great step stool for two year old. Assembly with help from two year old was about 20 minutes. As others have said- the sand paper traction will get dirty. Same afternoon we assembled, my son dripped water on it and when it dried there was water stain. Good news is the traction adhesive is fairly easy to remove. I will be replacing it with clear rubber traction tape (Amazon!) instead which is water proof. The bad news is peeling back the sandpaper adhesive showed light orange staining on the white surface. The black ink on the adhesive side bled onto the white! This obviously won't be an issue if you get a darker color version. ... show more

  • A few helpful tips for a overall good kitchen helper
Our son has been pushing our dinning chairs into the kitchen to help with everything going on there. The dinning room chairs are not great for this, they are a little tipsy and do not give him anywhere to hold on or keep him from falling. After seeing how much he enjoyed being in the kitchen helping and how poor the chair was performing at its new job we went looking for a kitchen helper. This kitchen helper is solid after it is put together and does not wobble at all. It also has two height positions so we should be able to use it for several years. A second set of hands comes in very handy when putting this together because there are several doweled parts that need to go together at the same time and lining everything up can be a challenge. I recommend having a screw driver as well to help adjust the barrel nuts during assembly. If the barrel nuts are not lined up properly you cannot install the bolt, the nuts can be difficult to adjust after they are installed without a screw driver. All of the parts have a nice finish on them but this finish is slick. Our son spends a lot of time running around in his socks and when he climbs on the kitchen helper there is a risk that he can slip. I added a couple pieces of grip tape to the standing platform and the step. It would be nice if there was a back rail at the top to totally close in the standing area but it is much better than the dinning room chair. Over all this is a nice kitchen helper for the price, we are all happy with it. Update: 5-5-18 Some of the Black finish on the stand has begun to chip off. It still works fine just doesn't look as nice now. ... show more

  • independence for our kindergartner!
Size: High-Rise Step-Up Color: Natural
we made do with chairs turned backwards and step stools for years, but as our son got bigger they started to just seem too rickety for him. he's tall for his age and has been able to reach the counters just fine for awhile, but he's mature enough to get what he needs himself from the freezer/upper cabinets so encouraging that independence without nervously hovering behind him like he could fall any second was important to us. (obviously we still supervise him! he might be mature, but he IS still five, ha.) it's sturdy and heavy, but again, since he's older, he can easily pick it up and move it himself to where he needs it. he even just plops down and uses it as a chair sometimes after he gets his snack. I love how it has a smaller footprint than the learning towers some of our friends with larger homes have. sure, we have to be mindful of it still, but our home is just over 1,000 square feet and it's well worth the room it takes up! I just wish it was strong enough for the adults in the home to stand on so we wouldn't have to break out the step stool, but that's okay. our son will still get plenty of use out of it for reaching the upper cabinets/freezer and we have another little one on the way as well who will eventually need help reaching the counters so we should get lots of use out of it still. ... show more
