High style, high quality products from Grohe. But a few issues that make this product not DIY-friendly and more of a professional-required kind of install. The supply lines are very short and didn't reach my water inlets. Had to buy couplers and extension lines. The included foam washer for the above-sink under-metal ring -- don't use it, it's garbage and leaks. Just use plumber's putty. Not sure why Grohe even included. Should have included a tiny tube of plumber's putty instead. The screw-on drain pipe LEAKS no matter how tight it is. Had to wrap with 6 layers of teflon tape before it would stop. The drain rod is really cheap metal stick, not polished nicely like the faucet. It also does not have a head on it, so it can just fall below sink if rubber grommet gets pushed. Otherwise the faucet is beautiful and smooth.

Oh my! I bought this faucet based on previous purchases of Grohe bathroom hardware, and my current house has a wonderful kitchen faucet made by Grohe. The previous hardware for the kitchen and bath is about 15 years old and works great. So that was the reason I bought this Grohe faucet for my bathroom. While the design is great, this faucet drips water from the spout with the hot/cold handles at full 'off' position. Since the installer has many years of experience (and has returned to try to remedy the problem without success), my conclusion is that this faucet was poorly manufactured. Here's the deal... this faucet wasn't inexpensive, but it was German design built in Mexico of parts from who knows where. I've had issues with Toto bathroom faucet/bath hardware in the past that was manufactured in China/Thailand rather than Japan. Love Toto design and admire the hardware when I'm in Japan, but buying Toto hardware in the US is problematic from a quality standpoint and that's why I went with Grohe this time. And it looks like Grohe has the same quality issues when they use a global supply chain and manufacturing scheme - that is, they take a quality product, totally mess it up and diminish their brand as a result. I feel doubly disappointed when I consider how many greenhouse gases were wasted in this global manufacturing enterprise just so that Grohe (and their American owner) could maximize profit. Grohe, I'll do you a big marketing favor and suggest that you move everything (design, parts sourcing and manufacturing back to Germany) so that customers can have some confidence in the quality of your products. We're paying for quality and performance, and not getting it.

I have successfully installed many faucets over the years, but after sweating it out under a bath vanity for over two hours, this one got the better of me. This faucet looks beautiful out of the box, but is a nightmare to install, and I am now returning it. Let's begin with the instructions. Apparently Grohe decided to save money by having their German engineers draw a few diagrams rather than pay a translator to provide written instructions in various languages. The result is a user-unfriendly instruction sheet, and the diagrams are not accurate... particularly the one depicting the orientation of the clamp under the countertop. This faucet relies on a threaded rod extending from the valve body above the sink to a clamp under the sink which is tightened-up by a copper nut. Problem is that the threaded rod is off-center from the middle of the valve. This means that as one tightens the nut, the valve body tends to lean just a bit in the direction of the threaded rod. Despite numerous attempts, the faucet looks a bit like the leaning tower of Pizza. I've installed (and and been happy with) Grohe faucets in the past, but not this one. Buyer beware.

Ive installed many faucets and this one was the worst. I purchased 2 sets. The components are cheap. The basin nuts are plastic and do not hold up. The connector tubes for hot and cold constantly crimp and cut off the flow. The instruction are pictures only and do not show accurate assembly. The handle assembly creates an impossible scenario in order to change out valves. I would avoid this product completely.

This is a beautiful faucet and functions perfectly. My only warning is that the provided instructions are only in graphic format without written instructions. For someone more experienced than me I'm sure this is not an issue, but it caused me some problems trying to put together the drain assembly. There is a thin wall pipe that must be unscrewed from the rough casting, and the one packed with my faucet was so tight that it could only be undone using a vise and a pipe wrench. The instructions were not clear on this step and I ended up going to Lowes and spending an extra $20 on another drain assembly. The finished product looks and works great - it was just a bit more complicated install than it should have been.

I usually love Grohe products, but this faucet has a major design flaw. The widespread faucet handles have water lines which connect to a brass "T" fitting that connects to the bottom of the watewr spout. This T is sealed with an "O" ring on the spout shaft. And the T is supposed to be held in place by copper clip. Unfortunately the T is allowed to swivel and the clip can be dislodged when using the rod for the pop-uip drain. If the clip gets dislodged, the T falls off the shaft allowing the inside of your vanity to fill with water.

I installed this faucet in about one hour, start to finish, including removal of the old Delta faucet, which had mineral deposits all over the base. It works perfectly. I have many Grohe fixtures in my home, am never disappointed in the quality or appearance. The Starlight chrome is just beautiful and easy to keep clean.. The components feel heavy and the quality is outstanding. I don't understand why people complain about difficulty installing, or understanding diagram instructions. Do you not have any DIY skills? Don't you realize the polymer nuts are so you don't over-tighten? The diagram shows how you loop the hoses so they don't kink. You don't need any special tools or plumber's wrench; a crescent wrench is all you need.
