The large gives a more flowing effect. So, if you wear a medium go up in size to get that maxi dress type feeling. You will love it. The material is soft and lightweight, with just enough thickness. The underarm panels are a major plus feature, as all too often, armpit areas are oversized and expose your bra and back. Great dress, very versatile and comfortable yet still polished looking. Fitted but not too clingy. Will be a good travel piece. I wore with a starched striped button down underneath and a thin leather belt, white sneakers. Fairly long length and I’m kind of tall at 5’9”. Knocked one star off because the side slits are a little much in my opinion. They come up to mid-thigh on me. I wore with bike shorts underneath to wear for work but will probably stitch up the top part of the slits so that the opening falls closer to the knee.

I would have done 5 stars but I do wish the material was slightly less polyester. However, in a world of girlies who usually have to order XL in amazon clothing, this is a L. I'm about 185, thick thighs that save lives, curvy athletic and can't really rely on regular size Ls in amazon clothing. Based on reviews, however, I got a Large and it fits great. Will be wearing it on an upcoming international trip as an easy and pulled together outfit to grab out of the suitcase. Pairing it with an oversized jean jacket and some cute tennies.
