Amazed by the wonderful quality of workmanship and fabric. Spring and summer weight. Falls beautifully with a hoop slip. Back has cross- laces and an elastic back neck so, if it’s either too loose or too tight, the dress fits many different shapes. I wear a 14 (5’6” 175) and the 14 is just right. The cap and fishue is also very well made. Fabrics used to make the accessories was an unexpected surprise. Again, very good quality. G’Daughter put it on. This is a great quality costume. The sizing is true for the chest and waist. I am 5'5" and ordered a size 22 and the length was just covering my feet. I can wear flat shoes and will not be dragging on the ground. The skirt is full and not see through. The only thing I did not like is the neck fits snug. Maybe this an authentic fit, not sure. I ordered this dress to use as a costume for a play I directed when I was in a pinch and needed a new costume in a hurry for one of my actors. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality. It worked wonderfully for the play. It blended right in with the other more expensive custom made costumes and did not look cheap or out of place. My actor needed a size 6 but they were temporarily out of sock in the color that I wanted so I ordered the size 10. With the laces in the back it can cinch in a lot, but I still ended up taking it in a little more to make my actor feel more comfortable and confident. I also added lace trim to the sleeves and some yellow ribbon trim on the bodice just to make it look a little less "prairie" and more colonial. The cotton fabric made it so quick and easy to sew on these little extra details without any damage to the fabric so they will be easy to remove if I need the dress to look more plain for a future project. My only complaint (which is very minor) is that the pattern on the fabric is printed, not woven, which is usually a sign of cheaper fabric, so the inside of the dress is white. The only place where that is visible when wearing the dress is in the sleeve ruffles. It also wrinkles fairly easily. Overall, I was very happy with this purchase. I would have been hard pressed to make this dress for this price, and it was absolutely worth it for all the time I saved. The shawl and mob cap were also high-quality and they looked great! This dress was perfect for Colonial Day at school. I wore it all day teaching fourth grade. The dress was well made and very comfortable. I appreciated the side zipper and the laces in the back, that made the dress easy to slip into. I’m 5’4, 130 lb. the size Small, fit perfectly. The fabric was pretty, the skirt was long and full. I ordered this for my church's "Old Timer's Day" service in October. It is a stunning dress - the colors are beautiful, the apron and hat are perfect, and there's a brooch that I didn't even realize came with it. I am having to return due to the sizing issue - it has a tie-in back, which I thought was going to be great. However, the WAIST has no give or stretch and I literally could not get the dress to pull down over my breasts. Even my husband tried to help me and we could not get it to go. ... show more

Great simple cotton dress. Good for several time periods by changing accessories. Good value for the price. I used it for colonial and pirate. Lace back is comfortable and adjustable. Would be perfect without zipper. I wear a corset & proper underclothes to make it more historically accurate. Layers help make it look more in period. I added chemise and underskirts in contrasting colors. Original garment is one piece. The elastic panel in the back laces will bunch up if you don’t have help to smooth the back out.
