    • I would recommend these for a first timer.

I’ve only used them once, but so far they’re good for a novice. The two front straps have a ratchet system, so are really easy to put on. The heel strap is a side release buckle, and is a little difficult to adjust. However, they never fell off while I was using them though, so I did something right. The poles twist lock, and have rubber tip guards. The entire kit comes in a nice storage bag. The snowshoes are very light, and have two huge cramp-ons on the bottom. The only real con- there were no instructions on how to put them on, or adjust the poles. I had to youtube everything. Not a big deal, but a little disappointing. I would recommend these for a newbie, and will update my review as I use them more. ... show more

    • The poles do not work. They do not lock into place. So you can’t Hold Onto them. The shoes are ok.

They are light weight and pretty easy to put on. But poles do not lock into place so I cannot use them.

The snowshoes are great. They are lightweight, compact, and easy to put on and take off. The poles, on the other hand, are awful. One of them broke the first time I used it. The bottom portion just fell out into the snow, and now it won’t tighten back in place. Obviously you don’t buy snowshoes because of the poles, but it’s definitely something to be aware of when considering this set. ... show more

I wear women's size 10 and have strong calves. These fit perfectly and do the job. The pockets are cute, but I didn't use them for anything besides chapstick. I used these a few times in last year. I just got them out again this weekend and when I tried to take them off, the velcro stitching ripped. They still close, but not as tightly. I'll sew them back together before I go out again. For the price these are very worth it. I get very grumpy when snow gets into my boots, and I spent all weekend snowshoeing in 3 ft deep snow with dry and warm feet. ... show more

These work great for the price. I've only used them twice and already the plastic has cracked in several places. I'm sure they will work for a long time, but I'm disappointed that I spent so much money on something that so easily cracks.
