The fact that this was a kit that included the carrying bag and poles was attractive and I believe it stated that it was Amazon's choice, But! They just don't work that great and will never hold up to long-term use. So I'm assuming that since these are for winter use that you should be able to use them in any temperature right? My first time using them was in 10 degrees Fahrenheit and the ratchet buckles did not want to work all the time, they would skip instead of locking in, and the plastic is too stiff to give when you tighten them and the tip of the strap hits the foot platform and stops you from tightening them anymore. Also the foot platform made of cheap plastic which is too thin and not supported enough in the heel area which causes the platform to bow downward on the verge of busting through. I believe with any kind of regular use in these conditions these snowshoes will come apart. So all the fancy gadgets included in these kits are just to divert your attention from the quality of workmanship on the actual snowshoe which is what you really are wanting to buy after all. Also it does not State the width of the snowshoes in the description, so I assumed they would be 9 in wide which is a common width but turns out to be 8 in which makes a big difference in flotation capability. the problem is there are way too many different companies making these snowshoes, adding to the confusion and all made to look pretty but most of them won't hold up.I remember owning a set of Alaskan outfitter snowshoes and those were how snowshoes should be made. Even the higher end snowshoes being offered online don't seem that impressive to me for the price. I would have returned the snowshoes but I bought them somewhere around September and only got to use them in January which was too late at that point. Gone are the days I guess that we can rely on quality workmanship and companies that are willing to back up their products. ... show more

I ordered this kit for my new hobby of snowshoeing. I have the 30 in snowshoes, which I find very sturdy, well-balanced, and easy to adjust (as are the poles). My boots (men's size 7) fit very well with the adjustable straps, and the buckle cinches and release are easy to manage. The video accompanying the merch promo was very helpful in illustrating proper use and set-up. The carrying bag is very handy, and the shoulder strap is also adjustable for good placement. These snow shoes are as described. When I bought them, I didn't have experience snow showing. I recommend renting snow shoes before buying so you have idea what features you like. These shoes perform well. I thought the buckle would be easier to is use. It's easy to tighten down the staps, but I struggle with the intial threading the buckle through.
