Bought this for my son to use on a 2 week overnight camping expedition it fits SO much stuff I got two sets of sheets a full size thermal blanket 6 shorts 8 tops plus 5 more ts 12 pairs of briefs full sized toiletries(including a huge can of sunscreen, foot spray& bug spray) 4 pairs of various shoes 3 swim sets 12 pairs of socks a head lamp two full pack of batteries a flash light, electric lantern, a board game, stationary, day bag, mesh gym/ball bag, laundry bag and there was still quite a bit of room in it! When we dropped him off and unpacked the foot spray had leaked into the compartment it was in however it did not seep thru to any other sections! Def waterproof (it was storming at p/o &d/o) Def worth it

Took it on a camping trip. Checked it as Luggage both ways (4 flight legs) and it did great. Survived a rain and kept everything inside dry. The straps to wear on one’s back were useful, and also easy for two people to carry from the ends. I definitely recommend.

I Really like this backpack, but first things first, it claims to be water repellent but it should be considered water resistant. I use this bag for courier work, and when I keep things inside of the end zippers pockets during a rain storm, they get wet. Damo sweat pants and a ruined cardboard box for a spare tube. I bought the 40l and it's massive , and it's made well, but sadly the the quality doesn't match the capacity. don't plan on filling this thing to the brim because it will tear. I bought this in April and The top zipper split after two months. It goes back into place but I have to be careful how much I pack in there and just last week in June, it split completely. Not from over filling , it's just not a good zipper that can take being used over and over. I showed some pictures of the wear and tear as well,again from regular courier use. As you can see the sides are starting to with and the shoulder strap plastic is coming off. I have to give it to the material though because regardless it's still a functioning back pack. The year I made outside of the zipper when I first got it was smaller and it just slowly grew in size. but it's still not totally ruined. It's a great bag for casual use,camping or vacation. but I'd you wanna use this regularly out doors and hiking , and wanna fully utilize the 40 liters, get something a little more expensive, because I'm sure the durability will be there to handle such loads and abuse.

I just received this bag to use during an upcoming move and I am already very pleased with the purchase. Although it may look cheap because the sheen of the outer shell can look a bit like cheap plastic, the product itself feels very durable but also pretty lightweight. I have seen many other Northface and Columbia bags that are similar but honestly offer nothing more than this bag in terms of quality, storage or durability. I ran the water-resistant surfaces underwater for 30 seconds and didn't have any water get through the barrier. The backpack straps are comfortable enough and the attachment points where they are fixed to the back look and feel very durable and able to withstand many uses and a full bag. There are a couple of other separate storage compartments from the main cargo area along with organizers within the main hood that allow a bit of organization in the bag. However, bear in mind, this is a duffle bag and if a massive amount of organization is what you are after, you can check out the storage cubes also by Gonex that allow maximum storage inside a big duffel like this one. Duffels aren't usually organization heavy but make up for it their storage capacity and this one has a ton of it! You can also configure the straps to be carried like a tradition duffel if you so desire. All in all, I'm very pleased with this product and I am excited about using it for many years to come. UPDATE: My wife and I love this bag so much that we actually bought another in blue! Same build, perfect quality, HUGE storage, no regrets! Do yourself a favor and get this back for your upcoming adventures!

I bought the 40L bag for my son who uses it to transport his athletic gear and school stuff to an from campus on his bike. The size, shape, and functionality of the bag are EXCELLENT! It's a perfect size for carrying his workout gear and his school backpack with his laptop and books (he stashes his gear in a locker at the athletic center and takes his school backpack to classes during the day). The carrying options are very handy and the shape makes it work great as a backpack. He particularly likes the compartments on the ends for keeping his wet shoes and other gear separate from stuff in the main compartment. He's used it heavily almost every day for the last 8 months and has 2 main complaints: 1) the velcro on the flap that encloses the backpack straps when they are stashed catches on clothing and abrades it; 2) the water-resistant layer bonded to the nylon has started to delaminate, crack, and flake off. The velcro issue wasn't a huge deal as he could simply remove it but then he couldn't stash the backpack straps. Some kind of snap for the enclosure would be better. As for the water-resistant coating, swapping PVC for TPU might make a big difference. I imagine it would increase the price of the bag, but it would be still be an excellent value even at an increased price.
