I picked up a couple of new EV Powered speakers and needed some long XLR cables to run these in just about any situation. I've owned GLS cables in the past and still have many that I use today. Guitar Center carries the same line and, being a loyal customer, they will trade these out for brand new ones if anything happens (short, break, etc.). I've brought back a few in the past, though I use them heavily and they take a beating. The trick to keeping cords that last forever? Don't buy cheap and roll/store them properly! This is especially true of longer cords! They have a "memory" of how they like to be rolled up and if you stick with this every time you put them away, they'll last a long time. Actual cables and XLR connectors on these are well built and I've had no issues hooking these up to my $2400 speakers. (I've used a cheap cable and the male side would barely come out due to a faulty clip). Pick these up, for the $ you can't go wrong and if they do go bad for some reason, just return to GC if you are a regular customer there. ... show more

Everything about these cables have met my expectations. They're still new so durability is my only concern over time. My concern with these types of XLR plugs is the plastic screw on ends. They tend to loosen over time and/or crack, even with a 'good brand' cable like Whirlwind. I've addressed this by using colored tape to hold the ends in place and clear heat shrink tubing to hold it all together. This also serves as a label to designate Left or Right FOH cables. I take reasonable care of my cables so I don't expect any issues. (These two 50' XLR cables are labeled and will only be used to connect my mixer to my powered speakers.) ... show more

So far I have nothing to complain about these cables. I have used them for the better part of a year so far & have had no issues. If they continue to hold up I will continue to consider this a very good deal. If you don't need or can't afford "the best of the best," then go for these. I have a number of GLS cables that I've purchased in the last year or 2 & all of them are still functioning as expected. ... show more

English - I bought these cables a year ago and they have worked wonderfully. I do DJ services and Sound for live performances for a living, and these cables have done more than expected. Just one time, one of the cables received a radio signal, it was a take it out and put another one in - and resolved!. I actually doubt a little because of the price, but they have proved me wrong, I recently bought another set of cables. I recommend this product 100%. The price vs performance of these cables is hard to beat. At the local music shop, it costs $35.00 for ONE (1) 25 ft XLR cord. For the price of one 25 ft cord you get TWO (2) 50 ft cords. You do the math. I use self-powered speakers, and with these cables, I can be creative about where to place the speakers and still have some slack left over. They are well constructed, and built to last even on the road. As they say "shut up and take my money". You cannot find a better deal than these. And with Amazon's quick shipping, you can have 'em before your next gig so go for it - you will be very satisfied with the quality, usefulness, and affordability of these XLR cords. ... show more

I am no expert on XLR cables but I have been using GLS for over a year and have had zero issues. Price paid: $29.99 including shipping, at the end of December, 2010. I bought these 50ft (2 pack) cables to build several microphone and instrument cables of shorter lengths. It caught my attention that the wires in these cables are thicker (at 21 AWG) than the typical microphone cables, which are normally 24 AWG. These cables do not tangle up as has happened with other equivalent cables that I have used. That is a major plus with these cables. The plugs that come with it, are of top quality. I have not had much experience with high quality cables, but I have discerning (clinical) ears, and these cables provide a clean sound with no noticeable flaws in sound quality. A nice addition to both of the 50ft cables, was two white Velcro cable ties (a total of four ties, two per cable) that have proven to be useful to keep wrapped cables from getting mixed up with one another when stacked together. ... show more
