I meant to buy the rechargeable version but got distracted by fast delivery. Here it is a few days later and the original set of batteries (it takes 2 at a time and comes with spares) have held up very well. The ball is very bright at night and the kids love running out to play as soon as it gets dark. It's not a soccer ball, it has the wrong texture and is harder so you have to be more careful when kicking and playing with it but it's fun ... show more

The ball comes deflated and includes batteries already installed, as well as extra batteries. It didn't feel much different than kicking a standard ball. The kids love that they can still play even after dark. The ball lights up when it is kicked and stays lit for several seconds. It will turn off if it is not kicked for awhile.
