I ordered size large for my daughter. She is an average size 10 year old. She usually wears 10-12 in clothing, and this hoodie is perfect for her. Enough room for thick undergarments when it’s really cold. It appears to be really well made, I would recommend.

The sweatshirt is regular sweatshirt thickness. I was worried that it would be thin since it seems a lot of sweatshirts are on Amazon, but it is a traditional sweatshirt. I bought the large for my average sized 8 yr old son because I wanted room to grow. The sleeves and body have extra length, which means it should last at least another year or two, but it doesn't look silly big on him. He loves it and says it's soft inside. Super comfy material. I ordered this for my 9 year old and instantly I could see her normal size would not work for this so I ended up using it for my 5 year old. It's a little big on her but it's fine. My issue with this is the pocket was not centered which made it a little difficult for me to do HTV on the hoodie like I originally planned. Just what I was looking for. I tried it on my grand daughter and it brought the biggest smile to my face. My grand daughter is a tall 5 year old, It is a tad be big but she can grow into it. I immediately ordered 2 more in different colors and in a size small. It has just the right thickness and the inside is so incredibly soft. I LOVED it as soon as I touched it. I ordered a youth large because my son usually wears mediums and i wanted his sweatshirt to be comfortable, but this sweatshirt was way to small and fit very snug. I'd say a youth large is more like a youth small.
