This heated outerwear is powered by four Microwire heating zones that utilize patented micro-sized stainless steel fibers to provide even heating for ultimate comfort. The heating jacket comes with a rechargeable 7V lithium-ion battery included for hours of heat on-demand. The battery has 4 different heat-settings as indicated by lights. Simply turn on your battery heated clothing and experience warmth like never before! It is recommended to maintain at least 25% power in the battery when not in use. This practice will prolong the life of any 7V battery.

Not very warm. With or without power, you will be cold in the winter with THIS Gerbing jacket. Very loose fitting and only good in mild winter days, fall and spring. I have the Gerbing motorcycle jacket that is bulkier but very warm even with the power off. When it is plugged in it is very warm. It works well with light undergarments too. But unfortunately, THIS Gerbing jacket is 7 volt and also has fewer heating elements. No heated arms for example. The included battery and charger will last 2-4 hours. THIS jacket is just a fall and spring jacket only. Even with the heating elements on, it is not warm enough in the colder winter days. The only way to be warm in THIS jacket in the winter is to wear lots of warm undergarments. If you do that, you won't feel the heat from the elements. A Catch 22! The best winter jacket is the Gerbing Heated Motorcycle Jacket. Unfortunately the motorcycle jacket pocket 12v battery will only last for an hour or so. At that point, you would need a second battery or plug it in to your motorcycle electrical system. The motorcycle jacket is very warm even without the heating elements on. It also has built in safety crash panels too. Great if you ride a bicycle or motorcycle. It's slightly bulkier and it fits snug. It's only $70 more and available on Amazon too.
