I have 2 kids that we just smushed our own bananas for when they were little. No amount of smushing made them as smooth and easy to eat as this though. This is very smooth and doesn't have the same goey-ness of just a banana, and I like the convenience of pre-packaged foods like this for busy days and traveling. It doesn't taste quite as banana-like as a pure banana because they needed to add lemon to it, but I still think it tastes good. My kids seem to like it, too, but I wouldn't say it's a favorite. I got this pack of organic baby food for when my nephews come over. It's a simple wholesome food item for them, and they both love the banana flavor. Heck, I've even tried it and liked it well enough. Gerber has been around for years, and while most no company is perfect, I trust that they only use the cleanest, safest practices when making their baby food, and feel comfortable feeding this to my nephews. The jars are glass and metal, with a BPA free cap liner, and should shelve for a while longer than the label might allude to. The littlest family member is just now starting to try out solid food. He seems to really like these organic banana jars. His other auntie likes them as well, she had to taste test them and gave her seal of approval. But the most important test is him and so far so good.
