I purchase 2 of the GCI Seat and back support for my canoe. I read many mixed reviews for these seat however found nothing else in the price range like it. With that said Amazon shipped quickly and upon arrival I opened the boxes and inspected both seats. 1 of the seat bottoms had about an inch of a seam that was not completely sewed and had threads hanging on multiple areas of the seats. Once i spent a few minutes snip the thread that were left hanging they look excellent. Unfortunately I have had multiple items that arrive like this so I think its a sign of the times. The seats have a nice ridged steal tube frame and great cushioning in the bottom and lumbar, I look forward to trying them out this weekend. With that said I have not had the opportunity to use them yet so I can really comment on much more at this time. I will update with some photos once I use them a little. ... show more

The GCI seat made a huge difference in being comfortable in my new foldable Tucktec kayak. The back of the seat holds up well and doesn't slip. I strapped this on top of the seat that came with the kayak and it doesn't slip around. It is very lightweight to carry.

This review is for GCI Outdoor SitBacker Adjustable Canoe Seat with Back Support. The canoe seat was delivered on-time, well-packaged and as advertised by the seller. I have a 3-person Pelican Bayou 160 Canoe with trolling motor which I use for fishing; the seats are hard-plastic without back support and can become uncomfortable after a while. This GCI SitBacker can be buckled in place in each of the three seating positions and provides a relatively comfortable padded seat with a firm, adjustable back support. very lightweight and works great for long days of canoeing. The portage straps work great to keep them up when portageing so they don't block your view and stay strapped to the canoe so you don't need to make an extra trip with them. I also used it as a pillow mat in my tent for added comfort.
