I have shelves from Costco as well that are built similar. It’s straight forward putting it together. A mallet is a must. It’s very sturdy. I have 10 Costco storage containers on it. No issues. I don’t understand the other reviews. I have 2 shelves. I don’t have complaints for the cost to value.

Shelves look nice and were easy to assemble using only a mallet. They come with useful plastic L-shaped caps for the vertical rail ends. This makes it easier to slide across the floor and precludes cutting your hand on the corners. Shelves are very sturdy. I will be buying more in the future.

We ordered 5 of these shelves. The boxes were VERY beat up when they came and as we were building the shelves, one of the boxes only had 3 shelves in the box. The ones we were able to build seem sturdy. It is a little hard to slide the totes on and off the shelf, they get caught on the ridges, so we'll need to put something on the shelves where we will be pulling out totes often. ... show more

This shelving unit was satisfactory for my requirements and a fair value for the price. Potential buyers should be aware of some limitations, though. As the pictures show, the unit is made entirely of rolled steel with welded wire shelves. There is no diagonal bracing. Fully assembled and with the shelves evenly spaced, it's sturdy enough for light and evenly distributed loads, but uneven loading might be a problem. The assembly instructions are English-only and though the illustrations are clear, the wording is not especially well written or translated; while I have been assembling a number of different types of shelving lately and am familiar with the potential pitfalls, I can picture a user with limited English fluency or who hadn't put together this type of unit before becoming potentially confused or frustrated.
