  • Well built

I love the snowshoes, very easy to use.

  • Strong trekking poles
I bought these for a long trip a couple years ago. The snow shoes are fine, but the trekking poles have stood up to years of abuse at this point. I've snapped many aluminum and carbon fiber poles. Usually they last about 4-6 months. These ones have lasted 2 years, with only a slight warping on one.

  • Bad pole fasteners
The pole fasteners suck. They kept coming loose during my hike.

  • Very good
Very light and sturdy. Convenient to use when there is a lot of snow. Recommended for light trekking rather than rugged mountains.

  • Great snowshoes and poles for the price
I've had these about a year, probably used the snowshoes ~5 times in that period and the poles ~20 times. Much better cleats/bite than most skin-on-frame snowshoes, and one of few with the (in my opinion) critical front/toe box strap. And hill risers at this price point.... I'm 130 lbs plus whatever my pack weighs (~15 lbs? 20?), and I've been happy with the 25" snowshoes. You could probably follow the manufacturer's size/weight recommendations if you only hike on groomed trails, but breaking my own trail is half the draw of snowshoeing (why bother with snowshoes otherwise?), so personally I would recommend against that. ... show more

  • Poles were disappointing, but shoes OK
Color: Orange Size: 25"(Up to 200lbs)
Our snow shoes survived one outing with no problem, and we had great fun. The straps are a bit stiff, and you would do well to adjust them for your boots and practice putting them on and off in a warm indoor spot before heading out to the snow. High end snow shoes tend to have teeth all the way around the frame, which helps a lot in steep, rough, or icy terrain. These have smooth aluminum tubes, like most of the cheaper ones. You would hardly notice the difference on flat trails, and wonder why you even need the trekking poles. We used ours on an uphill trail with 20-degree slopes, and they were OK, but that's when you definitely need the poles. (With our snow shoes, we could ascend much further than anyone in boots alone, and it was great to have the silent, snowy trail to ourselves.) The poles were the biggest disappointment in the package -- poorly made so some of the extension clamps were very difficult to close, and others so loose that the poles would collapse during normal use. Also, you need to be careful that the baskets are screwed on properly at the tips, or they might come off and get lost. ... show more
