I love the look of this Frye bag! I love the gray color that I ordered. The bag is large. I love the long strap and the handle so you can use both ways. The handle doesn't fold down very well. The magnet to close the bag isn't very strong so it doesn't close very well. Lastly, the leather shows any scratches or marks made on it very easily. I even put a leather protector on it before I started using it hoping this wouldn't happen but it seems it didn't help much, or if at all. I was able to get the gray color on sale as I have been waiting. I don't think it is worth full retail price. ... show more

it's hard to find a sheik hobo bag designed to carry more than just purse items. i carry my laptop and miscellaneous supplies as well as purse items, and i love it. i love the short hobo strap and i love the long cross-body strap for when i need it (which is when i am riding my bike, it keeps it balanced behind me so that my shoulders are unencumbered while riding). ... show more

I paid about a third of the regular price and I like it alot. It has a great slouch factor. The leather seems strong. It does scratch easily, but I believe that is part of the look. I use Coach leather cream/polish, I gave it 2 coats when I first received it, and as it scratches, I will just continue to polish it. ... show more

Pros: Perfect sized bag - truly - I've been looking for a hobo with the right kind of shoulder strap AND crossbody strap, that will hold what I want, without looking like I'm trying to carry out the store, if you know what I mean! My 13" Macbook fits well, with plenty of room for my large wallet, phone, small make-up bag, etc. Weight is really good - not too heavy, but clearly a quality, leather item Smell: like a tack room. That's a good thing - if you're looking for leather! Packaging: Exceedingly good shipping/packaging. Bag was uber protected, inside and out, came with dust cover, filled with paper to maintain shape, and Every. Single. Inch. including the handle, was wrapped to prevent any scratching during shipping. Snap closure: while zippers are more secure, I actually really like this feature and hope it holds out! Cons: Cost prohibitive. I'm not brand-name obsessed, and looked around for similar bags, but the size was always off, so I came back to this one. Jealous of those that wrote reviews mentioning they got this bag in the $200 range - that seems a much more fair price, honestly. Cognac Color: I wish it was just a tiny bit lighter, but it's still very classy and shiny and will weather well. I plan to keep it conditioned. Lining: Not the cute striped pattern as advertised - just plain grey. Which is fine, but I feel like if you're paying nearly $400 for a bag, you should deliver what is described. Got the khaki color it’s not bad but does look different in person. Has a strong smell to it but nothing that I can’t live with. Just hate that it was reduced in price about 2 days after I ordered it.

Beautiful. High quality. Big! I call it my Mary poppins bag, as I can hold so much! I have gotten so many compliments. I have always wanted a Frye and this was the perfect first of many. Don’t second guess. Buy the bag.
