We purchased this umbrella almost a year ago (Nov. 2021). It was easy to set up (my husband secured it drilling holes into the concrete deck in our lanai next to the pool), the quality of the metal parts and fabric were excellent (we treated the fabric with Scotch guard (in the yellow can) to maintain the color) (beautiful deep turquoise - we live in Florida and the sun beats on this daily along with heavy rain and winds) and nearly a year later it still looks great. Just before hurricane Ian arrived we closed the umbrella securing it with the attached ties and my husband pointed out to me that the rope was fraying. The rest of the umbrella and stand were in perfect condition but the frayed rope concerned us. I decided to reach out to the seller to ask if the rope could be replaced, if they could tell me where or what kind of rope to get and most importantly, how to replace it. Remember - this was about 11 months after purchasing it. They wrote back the same day, explained that it is almost impossible to replace the rope and asked for my original order number. I thought, ok, here we go, it's past Amazon's 30 days and there's no way I'm gonna get any help with this. Well, wasn't I surprised. They wrote back immediately saying they were sending me a brand new umbrella, stand and all. By this time (maybe a day or two beyond my initial contact) Ian had made landfall, the umbrella was still standing with no damage! A few days ago we received the new umbrella! I wish I knew the name of the person communicating with me through Amazon messages so I could thank them by name - they were so helpful, kind and showed how an excellent seller cares for their customers making sure that they are happy. And we couldn't be happier. When this umbrella has seen it's last days you can be sure we will purchase from them again. Imagine if all sellers on Amazon were this customer focused. Buy this umbrella; you won't be sorry!

I bought this ten ft. umbrella in June of 2022. Having had several umbrellas and gazebos I was impressed with the quality of the canopy, much nicer material than I've seen before which is the usual failure. Unfortunately, the canopy was not the issue. My umbrella twisted horizontally to the point where the piece at the top of the vertical pole sheared off. This was after ninety days, well beyond the Amazon 30 day return policy. I contacted Fruiteam patio from their website, asking for a replacement piece I could easily repair the problem with. The contact was overnight and I sent them a picture in the e-mail response. The next day I received an e-mail they would be sending me a replacement umbrella, the COMPLETE umbrella. Four days later, it was delivered. Wow! That's what I call customer service and integrity, something rare in todays marketplace. You won't go wrong with Fruiteam. I would have no reservation about dealing with Fruiteam and I'll be looking at other items in their catalog with no reservation give the great customer service. UPDATE: 9-24-24 I ordered another of these umbrellas. Once assembled, I noticed the stitching was coming apart at the central vent. I contacted Fruiteam and they responded morning of first business day. They requested a picture of the failed stitching. Next day they said they would send a replacement right away. I've already given them five stars. I'd give them five more if I could.

We have a front porch that gets a lot of direct sunlight for most of the day and it can become unbearable to sit outside for any period of time in sunny weather- which is most of the spring and summer where we live. I spent a lot of time reading reviews about various outdoor umbrellas. All the reviews were so mixed and I was genuinely confused. Plus you never know if the reviewer actually assembled it properly or if they live in incredibly non typical windy weather unsuitable for the average umbrella… so with many unknowns, I decided to just buy it and see for myself! Here are my experiences having this umbrella for a couple weeks. (We got the 10 ft offset umbrella in tan color) Pros: - Easy to assemble with basic instructions which although weren’t perfectly clear, was pretty straightforward for the average intelligent human. - provides shade!! I that’s the point but it’s good to know it does it’s job. - opening and closing the canopy is pretty easy. - when the umbrella is closed, it seems like it would hold up to rain and basic wind. (Haven’t had any yet to know for sure) Cons: - A weighted base is absolutely necessary to make sure the umbrella doesn’t fall over. (That’s the case for all umbrellas- think backyard basketball hoops too) However the con is that the base that is officially recommended for this umbrella to be purchased separately was almost as expensive as the umbrella itself which seemed super pricey to me! Instead, I bought a sand bag from Amazon for about $20 and got two $5 bags of sand from Home Depot. Seemed to do the trick! (See pic) Yes, a bit less aesthetic, but who cares? - the last 2-3 cranks of the lever to fully open the umbrella is hard to turn. The first part is very easy. - we have not experienced any high winds while owning this yet, but from what I see it swaying slightly in the breeze, I don’t think this umbrella would hold up if it is left open in any substantial wind. - the umbrella mechanism opens by turning the crank which pulls a string that opens the canopy. This entire umbrella is dependent on that string! (See pic). I just pray that it is durable enough to hold up long term. I’m a bit skeptical! - the umbrella does not have a feature where you can tilt the canopy to accommodate where you need the shade as the sun moves. I saw other umbrellas that have that feature. - the fabric is not completely opaque (see pic). You can see the sun through the fabric. It does give adequate shade and still shields you from the bright blinding sunlight. But just thought I’d add if anyone cares. Final thoughts: We paid about $80-$90 for this (without the sand bag). I’m pleased with the purchase for now as it has saved me from baking in the sun while outside on my porch. It definitely provides the shade it was created for. I would recommend for someone in a decent climate with minimal storms. You definitely will have to be diligent about closing the umbrella when not in use. (So far we are!) I took off one star as I wonder about long term quality. We’re hoping for the best!
