I just received it. It is not 80% cotton. It is 52% cotton.

I bought these socks because my husband wears steel toe boots daily for work and tends to go through socks in about 6 months or so before the toes are riddled with holes. I was hoping that these socks might last longer than mere months, since they were marketed as "extra reinforced heel and toe". Much to my dismay, these socks were of an even worse quality than the run-of-the-mill Hanes socks we usually purchase. Every single pair of these socks developed holes in the toe after a SINGLE wear. Not just one or two socks, but EVERY SINGLE SOCK after ONE 8-hour day. After the first two pairs developed holes so rapidly, my husband studiously clipped his toenails to see if they were the culprit - didn't help. I cannot recommend these socks to anyone and I will mostly likely avoid purchasing fruit of the loom underwear in the future. ... show more

  • Great ventilation - through the holes that develop the first time you wear them...
Size: One Size Color: Gray
I saw a review for these socks where the heel had a hole in it and the reviewer said that the hole developed the first time he wore them. I was very skeptical and bought the socks anyway (assuming the guy had tried running a marathon in his socks)... Well, I wore my new socks for a day and both socks developed huge holes in the heel the first time I wore them. I'm a teacher, so am on my feet a lot, but not exactly a grueling day of full-on cardio. I'm sending them back. ... show more

Size: One Size Color: White
Before washing, I noticed that the socks were as thin as the old socks I was replacing. That was borderline okay because the price was cheap and I wasn't expecting to get thick socks. Unfortunately the socks became unacceptably thin after wearing them once and washing them once. Now it hurts if I walk on wood flooring without shoes. I was okay walking on them with my previous worn out, old socks. The inside seam of the socks by the toes sticks out quite a bit. I've thrown away one sock so far (out of the sixteen I've worn up to this point) because the seam was bulging out onto the tips of two toes on my left foot. ... show more

  • NOT WHAT I EXPECTED FROM FRUIT OF THE LOOM
Size: One Size Color: White
I seldom right bad reviews but because I’m so disappointed in this purchase I had no choice. I’ve been wearing crew socks since my early teens probably longer. Now I’m pushing seventy which means a heck of a lot of socks. Being house bound and stuck in a power wheelchair I seldom wear shoes. The foot rest on my chair is deliberately made rough to prevent my feet to fall off. This of course destroys the socks and when my toes started sticking out I knew it was time to replace them. I find it easier to toss every pair of the old socks and replace them with new ones. Because of the being house bound Amazon is my shopping mall. Everything I need to purchase is researched on the web and then price checked here at Amazon. Usually but not always Amazon has the best prices. This time they did. I have to mention buying socks here at Amazon is mind boggling. The selection is so large and just about if not all the manufacturers are present. I purchased these socks mainly because the price was good, the quantity and the brand name. I mean where can you go bad with Fruit of the Loom. So the socks arrived and right from the moment I picked up the package I knew something wasn’t right. The socks were well represented by the photo and I’ve worn these or similar brands so I knew what they should looked like but there was just something about them. As I said I just toss the old ones and replace them with the new ones. I had already tossed a few and the six remaining pair were placed on the dresser ready for a trip to the dumpster when I realized what was wrong. The new socks, all ten pair, weighed a heck of a lot lighter than the worn out six pair. Now I understand just about everything made these days has been cut back in materials and the quality isn’t the same but WOW! The difference between the new pair and the old was very disturbing. Oh well there’s nothing you can do. At least they looked alike. While comparing the two it became more evident in the differences. The bottom portion of the socks are padded but the new ones couldn’t match the old ones for the thickness. Remember I’m comparing socks I’ve worn for years against brand new ones. I’m assuming that Fruit of the Loom either has cut corners too much or they must have different quality socks sold on Amazon. Oh I’ll wear them but I won’t be a happy camper while doing so. I might be dwelling too much on the old days when you got what you paid for. ... show more

  • Dont buy! Unless you want mass lint everywhere!
Size: One Size Color: Black
Instead of getting my usual socks I decided to save a few dollars and gave these a shot considering how many good review this has. I learned a lesson. Don't go too cheap on your sucks. The lint is just non stop getting all over my other clothes in the washer/dryer, getting stuck on my feet, I can't just take off my socks and jump in bed, have to wash my feet. Ive certainly washed them over 3 cycles And its still losing lint everywhere its seriously frustrating! At this point I'm ready to throw them out all together. And on top of all that they don't fit well, lacks elasticity, and not very comfortable probably because of the over excessive lint residue. Like why is there so much lint coming off? ... show more

  • Mediocre, at best, and I won’t buy them again.
Size: One Size Color: Black
I originally thought that for the price paid they’re acceptable, though thin, but after a few weeks they’re less than that and my feet are always cold because they’re so thin. I’ve been buying a 10-pack of the Hanes crew socks each year and they seemed to be getting thinner and thinner so for about 12-bucks I gave these a try. The soles are a little heavier than the Hanes but from the ankle up they’re very thin, even the toes are thin, and I can see my leg in the ribs and they also don’t come up very high either. Seems this company is doing a better job making socks with less material than even Hanes was able to do… so far. I have a size 11W foot so with a smaller foot perhaps they’ll pull up farther but there’s not much hope for these lasting too long. I won’t be buying them again and buying online is a challenge so next time I’ll go to a store where I can feel them before the purchase. I go through socks fast working on our property and gardens so I expect to be replacing these before the end of the summer. ... show more
