This telescope will forever hold and important place in my life. My son-in-law passed away 2 months ago. My daughter and the kids have been struggling since then. The youngest daughter is 4 years old, and she can't quite understand what's going on. Needless to say it has not been an easy time for the last few months. I decided to get this telescope in hopes that the kids would enjoy it and it would make them happy. I actually told them that whenever they see a shooting star, it's their dad waving from heaven. The kids are varied in age, so they don't do a whole lot of things together. As soon as this came in, all three of them were taking part in setting this up and very excited about using it. It really made my heart smile that something like a telescope could bring a family back together again. My other hope is that the kids can have a newfound love of our solar system and see things that they may never have known existed. They were able to successfully install the app that comes with this, and it was very easy. I am happy to say that the kids got to see him wave many times on the night that they first used this. This is a great telescope that is user friendly for even younger children. The app makes it very simple. The images are very clear, and this is a learning tool to help kids get excited about our solar system. I can't recommend this enough. If I could give it more than five stars, I would.

When it says it's for kids and beginners, that supposed to mean, it's not that great. At least that sentiment has been my experience, especially when you're talking about cameras and telescopes. So I guess your expectations are supposed to be somewhat lowered, is how I read that. Anyhow, on raw stats, the actual specifications, this telescope is a mighty fine telescope at that... with 70 mm aperture, it provides a wide angle viewing experience and with the 15x to 150x, magnification levels, and this being a refractor style telescope, this is a lot of power for just a kid's telescope, it seems to me. I only have one point of reference here, and that is a somewhat similar telescope, in that it was marketed towards kids and beginners as well, but it was a little bit cheaper than this one, and sure enough, this one seems to be a better telescope... with good clear images and all the bells and whistles I would look for in a telescope at this entry level stage. It seems solid and durable, it has the option for cell phone integration, and it's fun to look up into the firmament with. It makes it easier than ever to tell the moon is not 238,000 miles away, that's just a ridiculous notion from what I've learned... at 150x magnification, you're not going to zoom in on anything that's truly that far away. Good value, good product.

I actually order this for my husband since he has always wanted one and I read in the reviews that it was a pretty easy set up and that it worked great but in my case it was not an easy assembly. It truly does not explain how to use it and what each accessories or lens does. Good quality and lightweight, definitely looks very pretty. We took it outside on a clear night and its hard to get the focus that we needed. It's great for looking at the moon since it is a bigger area to focus on but to see stars it is hard to focus on a specific one. I was able to see 3 stars where I could only see 1 with the naked eye so once I was able to focus on one I could see the potential.

Although this isn't a professional telescope by any means, it works really well, especially for my 5-year-old grandson. He thinks it looks pretty cool, and he loves that you can use a phone with it (even though he doesn't have his own phone yet). It took a bit to assemble it, as the instructions aren't the best. But most of the pieces are easy to figure out. I did have to resort to the box to see the pictures for a couple of pieces. The phone attachment fits my phone perfectly, with room for a bigger one if need be. I have a Google Pixel 9 Pro. At this price point, it was a great gift idea at a great value!

This telescope is a starter option for kids and beginners. Setup was simple, and everything needed is included in the kit. My kids were excited to use it, and we were able to clearly see the moon and some bright stars on the first night.The phone adapter is a nice bonus, it makes it easy to take pictures and share the experience. The tripod is lightweight but stable enough for casual use, and the controls are easy to adjust.It’s not overly complicated, which makes it good for learning and enjoying astronomy without frustration.

I ordered this for my 6th grader who loves science. He loves using it to look at the moon and stars. I like that it comes with so many accessories, lenses, and a tripod, so he has everything he needs to get started. The magnification is reasonably strong, as you would expect from a hobby telescope. It looks fantastic and comes in nice graphical packaging, so it has a great presentation as a gift that is sure to excite a young explorer. It comes with a phone adapter so the user can take photos of what they see, and the tripod is easy to use. It is not heavy enough to be substantially sturdy, but you can brace the legs with sand bags or just be careful not to touch it while looking through it. Overall, I think this set is a great value for the money, as long as you have reasonable expectations. It would be perfect for a student or hobbyist getting started.
