I've worn over 40 pairs of work/hiking/tactical boots that are available on Amazon. These are one of the most comfortable boots for hiking. I typically wear 9.5 and since these aren't available in half sizes I decided to go down to the 9. I would say these run a little large as they fit good without being too tight. The styling is nice. The outside material sheds water. The tongues are sewn on the sides so dirt and debris won't find their way into the boot. They are very comfortable with a good balance between a firm platform and cushion for all day use. The upper material and the part around your ankle is soft against your leg. The insoles have some arch support and have a good amount of cushion. I don't like overly soft insoles when hiking or working all day as the "squishiness" sometimes leads to blisters. These have a good balance between comfort and stability without being too squishy. The bottom of the soles offer really good traction on rough surfaces. The material is probably a rubber blend as the blocks are fairly stiff but still give a little to grip wet surfaces. They offer good traction for climbing on rocks, etc while hiking and have good toe protection. Highly recommend! ... show more

Very comfortable, well-made boots with good ankle protection and nice, thick laces. Further, the lacing is standard and secured with good metal hardware. That, combined with the thick laces, equals DURABILITY. Durability seems to be what the manufacturer is going for with these. The sole is thick--but not bulky or inflexible. The only possible flaws I can foresee--and only time will tell on this--is the use of so-termed 'PU Leather'. PU Leather (again; so-termed) is an artificial leather made of thermoplastic polymer. PU stands for PolyUrethane...which is a type of plastic. PU leather, also known as synthetic leather, does not last nearly as long as real leather. For such an active wear boot, this may--or may not--make this a poor choice. HOWEVER; The advert blurbage states; "The upper of these hiking boots men is crafted from carefully selected premium 1.8mm full-grain cowhide leather. After undergoing 4,0000 flexing tests, these tactical work boots men ensure long-lasting durability "...... BUT--The advert blurbage also calls this; "PU coated leather and suede".....??? Clarification might make me feel better about this description, but they offer none. Neither is there any clarification of exactly how much of this boot is leather, and how much is 'PU'. (....sigh......) I`ll 'Bottom Line' this by saying that the boots fit well, feel good, and SEEM well-made. A really good pair of boots should last the wearer at least 5 years. If these fall apart on me before that mark, I`ll let ya know! ... show more

These are perfect for mountain hiking and exploration. These boots have a stiff and grippy sole perfectly designed for rough terrain with rocks, brush, and other natural obstacles. The outer boot is a durable waterproof and dust resistant material reinforced with hard plastic ankle support and extra layers in heavy wear areas. The laces are rugged and held with metal loops and hooks to ensure a secure hold. The interior ankle has extra padding for support and compfort. The insole is a springy gel material that may flatten over time. There is no substantial arch support or cushioning for the sides and top of the foot. I purchased a U.S. men's size 12 and the width and length fit true to size. I really like these boots and look forward to many adventures while wearing them. I will be installing different insoles for my significant arches, but other than that, these shoes are ready to wear right out of the box. ... show more

These boots are solid and well made. True to size and medium width. The color is like the photos, very neutral. Nicely cushioned sole and good traction. These are very comfortable to wear for long periods. The only con I have found is there is a tiny bit of material that is not stitched- see photo-but it did not affect the performance or confort at all. Overall these are a solid choice. ... show more

I really like how solidly these hiking boots are constructed. How this blend of leather, canvas and rubber materials is put together is about perfect in my opinion, and the riveted metal lacing anchor points add to the overall heavy duty looks and feel of them too. The lacing tongue and the ankle support areas are thickly padded which adds to the comfort level while wearing them. The heel bottom is defined, not wedge design, and the bottom tread has an off-road tire look with pretty good traction on wet and slippery surfaces. The manufacturer suggests treating them with a moisture barrier, so they are not waterproof on their own. A nice fitting, comfortable hiking boot describes these boots accurately and rating them highly is easy for me to do. ... show more
