Hello These boots are very well made, especially by today`s std`s . I purchased these over a year ago. The only issue was the eyelets didn`t have a lot of radius where the tension on the boot strings would be, and thinner stronger strings did better. The tread wear has been quite minimal also, as I`m an avid hiker, and hike a lot in mountain conditions, generally where there's a lot of sand stone which is extremely abrasive to the soles/tread. I had a pair of military boots before these that looked a lot like these that the tread wore completely out and into the inner layer in 2 years, so for the money I decided to try these. Those boots though were over $ 200! These boots are very lightweight for the cost as well. After well over a year there is still a fair amount of tread left, but I like a lot of tread when hiking. The boots are very comfortable as well, and I`m very picky about footwear for a few reasons.... I recently decided to get another pair, as I see they upgraded the tread design. I checked the eyelets first and they are more radius`d and more smooth than the first ones. The tread is a better pattern and a bit deeper. I actually just now got a third pair in black as well for use at my business, as the surface is dark and smooth and will clean up easy. I`m into designing and manufacturing high tech precision products in a few different industries, and I can definitely say when a company is constantly looking to improve their products without adding much if anything to their price, that says a lot about them. I`m all about quality. I don`t think I`ve ever had a pair of boots in this price range that were even close to this quality, so I just had to take the time to do a review! Steve

I was looking for a less expensive boot I could wear and get for my crew for my home services business. We are frequently wet and I need a comfortable waterproof boot. I was wearing Salomon boots but they broke down WAY to quick on the job for $200 a pop. I ordered these boots based on the reviews and decided I had nothing to lose at $60 per pair. Pros: Price - great overall boot at an extremely reasonable price No break in period - comfortable to wear right out of the box Warm - a little too warm for summer but moister wicking socks help Metal shoe lace grommets - No stupid fabric grommets to wear away or tear Good sole grip Extremely comfortable! Cons: Waterproofish - I'd call these primarily water resistant, not water proof. Great temporary protection from water but not from extended exposure to water ie heavy rain, pressure washing etc. No Toe Protection - my number one complaint and reason for the loss of a star. I kneel a lot in my line of work with my toes toward the ground. The lack of toe protection ended up with my toes raw when wearing. If this one thing was changed they would be my forever go to boot. However, because of this, I only wear them under certain conditions. For a general purpose boot - overall a great buy.

The sneakers I purchased six months ago were falling completely apart (rhymes with Mikey). I remembered back to the most comfortable shoes I ever owned, they were given to me for free by Uncle Sam back in the seventies along with the rest of the clothes given to me in basic training. These shoes lasted for years and were super comfortable. Last week I decided to try and see if shoes like this are still available. I went to Amazon and looked up "tactical boots". I was pretty skeptical that these shoes would be any good for such a low price. I received these two days later, they were great however they were too small (size nine, which is what I usually wear). I decided to try and send them back (which is usually time consuming and not worth the effort). It couldn't have been easier. My new size tens arrived the next day. They fit great, the leather is soft, lots of support, good grip. I spend most of my work day standing or walking on concrete. My feet were always sore at the end of each.... with these Free Soldier boots this is no longer an issue. People have complemented their looks. I will definitely buy again when the time comes.

I would recommend Free Soldier to anyone that's on their feet daily. Light weight, durable and above all especially for me water resistant is awesome. Just replaced my last pair after 10 months of heavy duty construction work. These are well worth it.

I've been wearing these shoes now for about a month. I work on a farm. They've gotten wet they've gotten dry I've probably put maybe 60 or 70 mi walking on them. They're comfortable but not for about 8 hours at that point your toes will feel cramped. Their waterproof enough to get the job done however as soon as you get them what the first time they will get a permanent cat urine smell. The cat urine smell is one of the two negatives that makes it so I cannot recommend these boots. The second being poor stitching, the boots are already starting to fall apart.

I recently purchased these boots to go hiking in. I tried a few pairs and these felt the most comfortable. I was right. They were VERY comfortable. I wore them for the week before I went hiking to "break them in" but my feet weren't sore at all from that process. I wore them on the plane - usually I like to take off my shoes on the plane, but not these. Then I wore them for the next two weeks of hiking. They are very comfortable. The waterproofing worked from my use cases - however, I didn't go into any deep puddles or experience any heavy rain, so I can't really comment on that. They did protect my feet while hiking from twisting on the rocky terrain we hiked. I know that in similar situations in the past, I felt my feet twisting a lot more when I just wore sneaker. Also, the soles are thick enough that I don't feel the point of every rock I stood on either. These are a pleasure to own and I'm excited for the next excuse to wear them.

Let me start by saying I have had about 3-4 pairs of these Free Soldier ACC022 back in 2019 I bought a off grid property in northern California gold country that had alot of tail end dredging leftovers which basically means a lot of rocks, so after many turned ankles & foot pain my mom bought some free soldier acc022 boots that turned out to be a pleasant surprise, they were comfortable & durable my 1st pair did a whole year out there in mountain/foothill country. Fast forward a few years I noticed they only lasted 3-6 months, then 4 months & now this last pair was ordered on March 2nd 2024, but my boots have been splitting open since May 4th so roughly 2 months, my gripe is that I now live in a area that has a lot of flat land so the terrain is way easier on your feet than mountain country yet somehow this 2024 version of these boots isnt holding up in a more boot friendly environment, so I think I should let my fellow consumer know they ain't what they used to be, I am now back to looking for new work boot brand.
