  • Shoddy construction very short design.
My fault for not paying attention to measurments but the quality is also pretty awful - almost as if it had already been (poorly) assembled and used before I received it.. I got this to save my back while teaching my 5yr old how to ice skate. It is WAY too short for him and the bar on one side keeps coming loose which kind of defeats the purpose of stability while learning. If my son hadn't destroyed the box as soon as I got the thing out to assemble it I would have returned it. ... show more

  • Great for teaching a 2 year old
A back-saver! At first my toddler wanted to hold my hands, and I was able to 'help' him push it around the ice. The tow leash also works well if you are a confident backwards-skater and is easy to put on and take off. Now my son is a more confident skater and loves pushing this around and collecting all the snow on the ice like a Zamboni. We occasionally skate outside, but mostly go to rinks and we bring this with us as the assistance devices at many rinks are in high demand. This hangs on over the handles of our stroller for easy transport. My only minor complaint is that one of the screws holding the bottom bar in place keeps working itself loose so I have to tighten it periodically, but overall it's held up well to a full season of weekly (at least) skating. ... show more

  • Even highest setting is really low
I didn't do any measuring prior to buying this trainer, but it was supposed to be for "kids" and not "babies" so I gave it a go. Construction is great and sturdy and it can easily support a kid, which is a reason I'm giving it 4 stars. Height, on the other hand, is a different issue. I bought this for my 4-year-old girl and even on the highest setting, this is way too low. Actually, on the highest setting, it fits perfectly with my 2.5-year-old kid. He will have a ton of fun learning to skate this winter, but for the next one, we'll have to find something taller. Now, my question is, for who is the low setting for, 10 months old baby? If you have a 10 months old baby that is learning to skate and needs this trainer on low setting, congratulations, you are a proud parent of future olympian :-) ... show more

  • So much better than PVC piping!
I volunteer at a local outdoor ice rink. We are constantly making the skate trainers for the little kids to use when learning how to skate. Because of the cold, the PVC plastic piping becomes brittle and cracks and breaks. My wife was looking for better, more durable material to use for the skate trainers and saw these. Thought we would give them a try. Well, these are the best! Durable, adjustable, they can take the cold and last! We have found our new skate trainers for the little ones! ... show more

  • Great ice skating trainer!
I bought this for my kid to learn to skate this winter. This is a great trainer and has helped my kid stay up during the times we've used it. It was easy and straight forward to put together

  • Dangerous design
Terrible design. There is a metal loop protruding from the very middle that isn't cushioned. Of course, when my daughter fell, she hit it and had a huge bruise on her cheek for 2 weeks. We are lucky she didn't knock out a tooth, split her lip or damage an eye. She is now afraid to try ice skating again. ... show more

  • Love it!
Perfect little trainer! It’s lightweight and not nearly as bulky as some of the plastic trainers I’ve seen at the rink. It was easy for my son to use and he’s already progressed after using it only a few times. Love the towing leash... saved my back from having to bend over for hours!

  • Great trainer for the grand kids!
Overall these are great! My only complaint is the black plugs on the end of the metal don't say in and since we bought six of these, we are finding the blag pipe plugs all over the ice. We would like to keep them in to avoid the sharp edges of the metal, but other than some kind of glue to hold them in, they don't stay in on their own. ... show more
