I went with the smallest size I could find in the blue as it was closest to my daughters measurements but it was still a little big around the chest area. She is slim and tall so it’s hard already to find the right size for her. The ribbon for the bow allows me to tighten it a bit so that helps. This dress is gorgeous. I was very worried about this dress but it was perfect. Not itchy. My daughter normally wears a size 8 and 60 pounds. I ordered a 6/7 and a 7/8. The 6/7 fit perfect with the perfect length to the ground without her tripping. The 7/8 was a little more roomy but she tripped while walking because of length. I cannot stress enough how gorgeous this dress is! My 5 year old daughter wore for her daddy daughter dance and got compliments left and right the whole evening. What I liked- The color was just as pictured. The detail of the top was beautiful. The satin quality was very nice. I was easily able to wipe a fresh food stain away and there was no sign of a stain or water mark left behind. What I disliked- The tulle was a tad wrinkly which was to be expected. I steamed it and all was well. The dress was not quite as puffy as the picture showed. You could purchase a petticoat if you prefer the fullness. The length did not cover my daughters feet. It came to her ankles. I was assuming the dress would be floor length. However, she is tall for her age so it’s possible if your child is shorter the dress could be floor length. Good dress and value for money. The material could have been of a better quality. For 1,2 time use it’s good but it’s not as good to use it more often and more than 3-4 times.
