    • Great dress but bust was too small

I really liked this dress ... but... The style is great, the fabric is lightweight without being see-through, and it has a nice crisp texture. Unfortunately, I had to return because the top portion ran very small—I'd say it fit like a size down, like a small and not the medium I ordered. I could just get it buttoned, and for reference, I’m a B or small C cup and wasn’t wearing a bra that added anything. Oddly, the high waistline (just under the bust) fit just fine, so it seems like the sizing issue is isolated to the bust. The buttons use a very small elastic loop to hold stay closed - the loops were tricky to get around the buttons. But because the loop is small, it kept the two sides together with no puckering in between - it was just too tight. It’s disappointing because everything else about the dress was great. I'm hesitant to try a size up, though, since I worry it would end up too big everywhere else. Disappointing I won't have it to wear this summer. ... show more

I wanted to love this dress. The skirt fit perfectly but the top was way too small. I could not have ordered a larger size because then the skirt would have been too big. I had to return it and will not be exchanging it for a different size. It would have been a perfect dress for summer, the fabric was lightweight, the gray/white was a good contrast. I wish the waistline was a bit lower. (I am also high waisted.) This dress is very cute but doesn't flatter me because the waist is too high. The chest was also roomy with some gaping at the arm holes. If the waist sat 2-3 inches lower, I would have kept it. A note about the fabric: It is not cotton and definitely synthetic, BUT I like that it is good for hot climates and it would be great for travel, because you can wash it and hang it to dry, which it will QUICKLY. This dress has an empire waist and a hook eye buttons. I liked the collar without a lapel. I am tall and fairly slender, not large busted, so the small fit well. This dress is is definitely not worth the price on Amazon. The fabric reminds me of the cheap stuff my mom used to buy at Hancock Fabric. I thought it would be seer sucker material. It’s not. It’s just printed. Feels like a tablecloth. It has a very handmade feel. Despite that I would have kept it because I like the color.
