  • Read the instructions carefully, and put your screws in straight and it's a great stand
So like others I read the reviews first and seemed like some people were saying the stand wouldn't line up right or the instructions aren't clear. Lots of great reviews too though so I took a chance and purchased it. My husband and I put it together in a little over an hour (he really did like 80% of the work while I helped put screws in a few pieces and held things when they needed to be pushed together). We aren't mechanically inclined but we've put together a fair amount of furniture in our time together. We could see where people might have thought things were not drilled right too because the stand uses PILOT holes instead of pre drilled ones in a lot of places. It's like this so when you screw it in, the fit will be VERY tight (after all it's holding a 200lb+ aquarium so you want this). DO NOT OPEN UP THE PILOT HOLES BEFORE PUTTING IN THE SCREWS OR THE STAND WONT BE STABLE! Also, doing this typically voids the warranty on any fish tank because you've "modified" the stand. As to the instructions, the only part you have to pay VERY close attention to because it's not super clear is the middle where you first start putting pieces together after putting in some screws. Take your time and read it and it will be fine. To make sure everything lays flat, MAKE SURE you put your screws in VERY straight. Also to get the top down all the way we used a rubber mallet and gave it a few whacks to make sure everything was nice and snug. All in all, I'm very happy with it. Looks a lot better in the living room than standard metal type stands. ... show more

  • Do not buy awful product 2x over priced!
This was one of those purchases I thought if I paid a little more, I would get better quality. Straight out of the box I knew I got taken. But I don't have to time to box it all up and send it back, so I went with it. Paint job is just thin a coat of color. Paint flaking off in the box. Now that it's put together, I'm afraid to breath on it. Every day I look at it and some more paints just worn off. Don't dare get it wet. Really cheap Materials and Construction was awful. Directions left you figuring out what to do next. It goes together using gimble and pin construction and cheap screws like Ikea. A lot of the holes didn't line up and the pins didn't tighten up all the way pulling the pieces together like they should. The only way I felt safe about the construction was shoring it up with more screws and L brackets inside top and bottom. Durable? not a chance for a fish tank stand, I'm in shock and awe at the good reviews, can't believe I own it. If I'd seen it before I bought it, I never would have. Shame on me for buying something like this online and listening to the good reviews. I hope you listen to mine. ... show more

  • Not sure why so many bad reviews.
Ok this stand is absolutely gorgeous, it was very easy to assemble and even though it recommends 2 people I was able to do it alone. I’m running a 55 gallon on it. This is a really fancy looking stand and a nice upgrade to the line stand I had. The stand is pretty heavy but solid. If you’ve ever put any furniture together you’ll know that nothing ever lines up perfectly. There was some chipped areas but nothing that takes away from the beauty of it. I thought the package was acceptable, had some rigid cardboard corners and styrofoam inserts. I wouldn’t like the bad reviews keep you from getting this stand, I’m so happy I got it. ... show more

  • I read the negatives prior to buying - I disagree with them
Color: Black Size: 50-75 gallon
Like any astute buyer, I checked reviews prior to buying, and found this item to have quite a mixed bag. That said, it was the perfect size and sturdiness for my purposes, it looked nice in photos, and the price sounded more than agreeable. So, I ordered the item, despite the negative reviews that absolutely exist. On unloading the box's contents and laying them out to take stock against the directional pamphlet's breakdown of required parts, I found each piece of wood clearly labeled (and all absolutely intact - only a couple VERY minor scratches on ONE piece), and that I had all of the hardware necessary (in addition to a couple extra dowel rods beyond the directions' needs). Now, we're going to get to my one complaint, and it's not even a complaint for myself. This project took myself (and my roomie, once I realized it was a 4-hand job at certain points) roughly 30 minutes to put together, after laying everything out. We're both pretty mechanically-inclined though, so following an assembly instruction is second nature to us. That said, the instructional booklet could be more in-depth regarding what to do, at each given step. While we certainly understood the pictures' directions, I certainly understand why many reviews have lambasted this product's instructions for lack of clarity - hell, the book doesn't even recommend that the project is likely a 2-person job, despite the fact there are several instances where the entirety of the piece needs to be either balanced or flipped around while in partial assembly, and thus not sturdy to support its own weight, yet. Honestly, the instructions ought to be split into more steps, and they ought to include a more text-based approach, to augment the images provided. This is literally the only thing which is holding this product back, in my opinion - its instructions are poorly-constructed. Now, back to the good. The holes were all drilled in absolutely the right places - as many other positive reviews stated, these holes are computer-drilled, and thus not likely to have any large mistakes. I had exactly one instance where I thought the holes were wrongly-drilled, and upon flipping the piece with which I was working, found I'd simply oriented it wrongly (again - back to those instructions and their lack of clarity). Everything lined up easily, and everything fit together nicely. The whole piece is now assembled and supporting a 75-gallon terrarium for my bearded dragon. Its lower compartments provide storage primarily for the beardie's food, substrate, extra home curios that can be swapped, etc. If I'm able to edit my review, I will add a photo later this evening (as well as removing this particular line, of course). TLDR: This is an excellent product, ESPECIALLY for the price. The directions are rather obtuse, and lacking in much of any text-based clarification of the images' instructions - but that aside, I certainly am happy with my purchase. It looks great, more than supports the weight put upon it, has storage beneath for the pet's needs, and, despite the obtuse instructions, is not even at IKEA levels for assembly complexity. I'd recommend this for anybody needing a stand for large terrariums - I cannot speak to its durability against the extra weight of aquariums, but it does say it will hold up to 900 lbs comfortably. ... show more

  • Great table
Perfect size for my 29 gallon aquarium and sturdy enough to hold the weight of 40 pounds of gravel as well as all that water. The only complain I have about this stand is that, one of the door came little cracked. The instructions manual is also not very friendly like IKEA furnitures. However, the table looks good after assembly and fit my needs. So giving it a 5 star review. ... show more
