Going pandemic crazy, I needed to get out and exercise (safely.) I started doing what I call "City Hikes"... I live downtown in one of the larger oldest cities in the country, and the main streets have inclines and declines with uneven sidewalks that can be somewhat challenging for a somewhat older person. A 3+mile hilly walk in under an hour can be an ok cardio exercise. I like to carry a lot: my smartphone with the MapMyWalk app on it, which both records and reports to my headset throughout my "city hike": my varying rates of speed, the degrees of elevation, my heart rate as well as distance covered and my speed right at that moment. Being a very cautious person - I carry with me all my critical keys including my car key, a major credit card, ATM card, garage pass, Driver's License and some hidden folded cash. I also carry 2 spare paper masks, 2 pairs of nitrile plastic exam gloves and several sealed SONO hospital-grade equipment wipes. I also carry my glasses and a water bottle I can drink from, particularly in this heat. But not only is that a lot to carry but downtown in an old major metropolitan area is not always the safest place - at least not in my neighborhood. Thefts occur even during the day. After quite a bit of research, scouring Amazon's site and trying a few items, I came up with a combo of items that make carrying all this effortless and as if I weren't carrying them at all, feeling as safe as possible and able to just focus on my "hike." I put in the items listed below (except my phone) in the various pockets of the FlipBelt Level Terrain Zipper Edition https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01CH0CXQO/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1. I was between sizes and found the larger one more comfortable - and though it slipped a bit, not by very much, tighter was not as comfortable. WRT my phone, Sinjimoru Phone Grip Credit Card Holder with Phone Stand ( I chose the silicone version), works perfectly on my Samsung Note 9 in an Ottebox Symmetry Case. Though the product pictures primarily show just using a couple of fingers to hold the phone - it actually stretches enough that I can put my whole hand through, holding the phone in my open hand so I can look at the phone face to see the map or whatever other info I want to at a glance while I am speed-walking, without fearing I may drop the phone, no matter how I might shake it. Now, I am female and with relatively small hands for 5'3" but there is still a lot more stretch room left for a larger hand -- but the material stays very snug around my hand, without cutting off any circulation. As an extra precaution, I use the Sinjimoru Phone Grip in combination with "SHANSHUI Phone Lanyard, Neck Strap and Wrist Tether Key Chain Holder Universal for Phone Case Anchor" https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B083158CBJ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 using the wrist band lanyard. The Shanshui Lanyard is amazing; I can dangle the phone by the lanyard and it stays attached. (There is no adhesive in this product, yet with the right cell phone case, it seems amazingly safe.) I prefer to put the credit cards, Driver's License, cash, etc in the zippered pocket of the FlipBelt rather than in the cardholder of the Phone Grip, tho I am sure the cards and cash would be safe in the Phone Grip. I just feel it is much less likely that a thief would be able to steal the Flipbelt off me in broad Daylight than perhaps in a fly-by action - cutting the lanyard *and* pulling the phone and phone grip off my hand at the same time while running by - tho I sincerely doubt the latter could happen with any feasibility. I fill them half full with my bottled water and freeze them. When I take one out for my "city hike", I fill it up with my chilled bottled water from the fridge. The bottle fits snugly and very stably - because of the curve - in the FlipBelt pocket - easy to pull out and put back in. And in this heat, the ice helps keep me slightly cooler - but honestly, the ice is all melted and the water almost normal temperature by the end of my walk. I am soaking wet at the end from sweat; so is my Flipbelt - but everything else - in my FlipBelt or my hand - is absolutely safe and dry. And I walk with all the speed and flourish I want because I feel like I am carrying nothing the whole while... free as a bird :-) I hope this helps!

Originally got the standard flip belt with no zipper. Swapped it for this zipper model and like it much better. I wore the standard for an ultramarathon and while it could hold my headphones and a gel with no bounce, my phone bounced way too much. Same with a soft flask water bottle. I wear a Medium in all running shorts/joggers. And am usually a 32 in measured pants, but skew towards 31 if needed. 33 is too big. The Medium fit fine but I prefer a more snug fit so I got the Small for the Zipper one. I’m 5-11, 175 lbs and generally have wider hip bones so I wear this more like around my lower stomach. The small is snug to get on but once it’s on it feels very secure for me. I like that it has the zipper in the back for my phone but also the slip pockets up front and on the sides for headphones, GoPro, gels, etc

I tried a similar waistline product with an adjustable buckle that was promising but still left me wanting better so I decided to give this a try. These are my initial impressions after two runs. I am a 31/32 waist so I went with the medium and found the fit to be snug but not uncomfortable. The temperatures were between 85F to 88F degrees with one of the days being fairly humid. My phone is an iPhone 11 max and I use a case with a credit card holder on the back. It’s somewhat bulky so I removed the phone from the case and stored it in a ziplock bag. I used a smaller ziplock bag for my license, credit cards and cash. I also had the 10 oz. bottle which I threw in the freezer for a few hours before my runs. And lastly I had my key fob and wedding ring. I put the phone in the zippered compartment and wore that on my back. I had the water bottle inserted through the openings and over my belly button. The cards/cash to one side and my ring and key fob attached to the clip on the other side. There was very little movement during my light trail running. I kept feeling around to make sure I didn’t lose anything along the way and whenever I slowed for a sip of water but all items were accounted for. The water bottle wasn’t overly difficult to remove while running but it was trickier getting back. I’m sure it will get easier with practice but I just slowed up up a bit so not an issue. So after about 16 miles combined on the two days and found this to be the best solution I’ve tried thus far. I tried running tights with a phone pocket but my phone has worked its way out and fallen to the floor on occasion. The arm bands are super uncomfortable for me so I gave those up a long time ago. I had been running with just my watch and AirPods leaving everything else in the car but now I don’t have to. The cons for me are the price but like most everything made specifically for runners, hydration vests, etc., they all seem overpriced. And the belt probably weighed 2-3x more after running than when I started. It soaks up sweat like a sponge. The ziplock bags worked fine so I may use another for the key fob just to be safe. This worked great for me so I may get another for the wife. I end up having to carry her phone and other things when we go out and she wants to leave her purse behind. This can be worn underneath most clothes without being seen so it’s much better than a fanny pack.

My belt just arrived today, and I promptly put it on to start using it. Very comfortable belt and fashionable (for those who care). I bought the XL, and all belt dimensions I supply here are measured from this XL belt. Pocket dimensions are measured from inner edge of seam to inner edge of seam. Zipper dimension is of the available opening of the zipper, not the zipper's total length. There is one zippered pouch (7 3/4" x 3 1/2", with a zippered opening 5 1/4") -- while this pouch is large enough for my phone in its case (my phone case's dimensions are 3.5" x 6.5" x .5") the opening itself is not quite big enough. I could get my phone in and out, but it was a 2-handed struggle each way, which won't do if I need to access my phone quickly. The rest of the belt is one long pocket (27 1/2" long when laid flat and empty, by 3 1/2" tall) with 3 slit openings (2 1/4" long each). While the small size of the slits helps prevent smaller items from falling out it does mean I have no option to try my phone in the non-zippered portion of the belt. I am a not-always-limber person when I am getting dressed and am clearly out of shape, and I found stepping into the belt and pulling it up just a tad bit difficult (though easier than putting on pantyhose). However, once on and in place it was flat enough not to bunch uncomfortably and snug enough to help hold up my slightly too big (now that I've trimmed my waist just a little) pants. With practice I imagine putting the belt on and taking it off will get easier. I did remove my phone from the belt before trying to slide the belt over my hips. One concern I have is due to the size of my phone and the snug fit of the belt. I have noticed that when I put my large phone in a pants pocket to carry all day my phone can pick up a slight curvature -- not something I want to happen, and my reason for buying a belt. This belt fits snugly enough that I fear similar stress would be put on my large phone and cause it to curve. I am old enough for presbyopia to set in and I have a phone this large because I can't read tiny screens (even with reading glasses), so switching to a smaller phone isn't an option. I have certain fitness apps on my phone and track certain information for my own use and at my doctor's request, so the phone must go with me ON MY PERSON as I walk, bike, etc. While this belt won't quite work out for me specifically I still think it's a great product that is well worth the money. I will simply offer it to my teenage niece or my younger sister-in-law, both of whom have smaller phones than mine and are looking to increase their activity but still need pockets. I have no intention of returning this belt unless it simply won't fit either of them. All in all this is a great product for limber-enough people seeking to be active who need a bit of pocket space and have small to medium phones. If you are less limber a different belt with a buckle might be better, and if you have large phones I recommend shopping further. Oh, and while I have not tested this the attached tag claims it is machine wash cold, tumble dry low.

I am very happy with this running belt, it definitely is WAY more comfortable than some of the other run belts out there that kind of bounce on you. Since this is really thick, you don't feel the pressure of thin straps. I also run with an iphone promax in an otterbox case, which is big, bulky, heavy. It fits in the front or back pocket with no issue, and once again feels comfortable and no bounce. The side zip is both good and bad. I like that you can just zip this belt on vs having to step into it. But also it means you kind of lose a large side storage that typically is availble if the zip is not there. The zipper on the side has not unzipped on me during a run yet, I've used it for about 10 total 2-4 mile runs, a small sample size, but no issues. The grippers also prevent this thing from moving up or down my body. It is a more weatherproof material, so I am guessing in the summer, this could end up feeling more warm than the other flip belts, but for spring, winter and fall it seems perfect.

Several 5mi runs, and the belt does not slip or bounce. I haven't really noticed that I am wearing it. I have only been using the zipped pocket for my phone (Pixel 9pro w/ case) and my house key attached to the fixed lanyard. There are plenty of pockets, but I have not tried them loaded up with gels, snacks, water, etc. I ordered a M and it fits perfect. Background: This is my third flipbelt, and my first "Elite". I run 40-50mi a week, always with a belt. TL;DR - The front zipper on the "Elite" is an upgrade over the past, low-quality ones on the classic. However, the side zipper adds more problems than it's worth. Since this is my third Flipbelt, I thought I'd go with the Elite. In the past, I've had nearly no problems with these belts. They fit comfortably, hold my belonging well, don't bounce, and there's zero irritation. The only issue I had with my previous "classic" belt was that the front zipper frayed fairly easily. The "Elite" model seemed to have a higher quality front zipper, so I upgraded, thinking it would be an improvement. And it was. The front zipper has, in fact, held up a lot better. However, it's the side zipper I have a problem with now. I thought it might be nice to have that side zipper as a way to remove the belt without stepping out of it. But it turns out that it's much more pain than it's worth; It's a chafe problem, and the first time that I've had a Flipbelt that actually has made me bleed. On my last marathon, the top two teeth on the side zipper very slowly came undone and rubbed at my waist, slowly creating a large rash. It's somewhat unavoidable, unfortunately, unless the belt is maybe looser than I'd prefer it to be. My advice: Don't get the "Elite". Stick to the "Classic". I've gone back to my old "Classic" and just dealt with the zipper that sometimes sticks. It's not worth getting a side rash IMO I hope FlipBelt keeps the subtle changes on the Elite but removes the side zipper. Until then, I'd stick to the original.
