This is a really sturdy, well made bracket but I couldn't use it. My rails are not at a perfect 90 degrees so this wouldn't work. I carved some of the plastic off the inner guides, but it still wouldn't fit. Check you rails with a builders square.

    • Crappy plastic unless sandwiched between steel
This is taiwanese 3d prinited stuff with some dude on youtube trying to sell it here in usa, it looks so cheap and obviously cannot be trusted, however sandwiched between two 3mm stainless steel plates which you can get for 10 bucks on ebay, 304 or 316 grade, it turned out to be the best outboard braket on the market, with my 90lb 10 hp tohatsu no problems jumping thru the waves ... show more

This rail mount looked small and weak when it showed up in the mail. But when I installed it I found it to be the perfect size. It's sturdy and hold my 4 horse outboard in a solid way, even when the wind is howling and the boat is pounding through the waves. I'm happy with it!

    • Good bracket, great price.
You can find a very similar product at a famous marine chain store for twice the price. And they look to me like they come from the same factory. This was a direct replacement for my old outboard bracket and the fit was identical to the old WM bracket.

    • Product seems pretty good... BUT. Mine came without hardware!
Mine showed up with no hardware and I've been having trouble working with customer support... 8 emails in... No resolution. No I'll likely have to pay out of pocket to be able to use this before our trip.

Will not fit unless your rails are exactly straight and square and are full sized. Mine are not, as I expect many are not. Buyer beware. Not going to return it because more trouble than worth, will just give it away to someone in the marina Disappointed that the description of the item did not alert me. I was initially impressed that stainless hardware was included and it was relatively easy to install. However, this product is poorly made and failed after a few weeks. I have an 8HP motor resting on it and it developed a crack through the middle of the pad where the downward lifeline support rests. I contacted the seller about this issue and never heard back. Very dissatisfied. Better to spend the extra few bucks at west marine. ... show more
