I bought the fireplace version of this and I love it! It looks great. The fire effect is really nice considering the size and cost of the unit. My only complaint is that the front has a piece of glass on it (which I'm assuming is to protect the mechanism) and lights in the room were reflecting off it spoiling the effect. This was not a big deal, as it's super easy to unscrew the bottom of the unit and just slide the glass out. I love this little fireplace, sitting on my desk, and keeps me nice and warm (haha). I took one star off because the 3rd night, it kept freezing. I'm on the USB, no batteries. So I turned the unit over, took the 4 screws out of the bottom with the screwdriver provided, pulled out the light and motor assembly, put a small drop of 3 in 1 oil in the 2 lube holes on the motor, and now it is works perfectly, there's a roaring fire in there! When the product arrived it sounded like something rattling in the box. When I turned it on it made an awful noise and the flickering part wasn't working properly. We took it apart and the piece that spins to create the flickering effect was broke. Instead of dealing with the hassel of sending back, we taped the piece on with electrical tape. It works fine now.
