Dear Fire Sense, My wife contacted you about the outside patio heater I purchased and she explained the manufacturer defect on the model, it basically broke in half and damaged my retaining wall. I am glad it did not hit someone in the head! This was a serious call and your customer service wanted nothing to do with it. Basically said we needed to purchase the 2 pieces (tubes) from you. I decided not to purchase these pieces from you as I feel the customer service was bad. It is more important to treat and take care of the customer, Social Media goes a long ways. Thank you. Mike

This stainless steel model costs more but includes an electronic ignition that requires a AAA battery. Also, unlike the less expensive units with painted bodies, this one has a pre weighted bottom and does not need the addition of sand and windshield washer fluid to weight it down. That greatly simplifies the assembly. All parts came well packaged. Directions were clear and in clearly written English. Assembly was straightforward. I did have one small annoying problem. One of the six M6 nuts in the package was actually a 1/4 X 20 and would not tighten. A quick trip to the hardware store took care of the problem. Initially, I noticed a slight leaning of the top burner section. I loosened the four bolts, gave the top a slight twist, and then retightened the bolts. That took care of the problem. On initial startup the directions say to hold the gas control knob in for 2 minutes prior to pushing the igniter button. I only held the button in for a few seconds, and when I pressed the igniter there was a flash and the unit was immediately fully lit. I would not recommend waiting very long before pressing the igniter. There as some slight initial smoking, but it quickly subsided. Overall, I am very pleased with this heater. Update 10/11/16: If you purchase a Fire Sense product don't forget to go to the fire sense website and post a review. It will double the length of your warranty. Also, before you throw away the box, look for the serial number and record it for future reference. I called the company to find out how to register my unit and was told as long as I have my receipt it was unnecessary. They answered the phone within a couple rings. Very impressive.

This heater is definitely worth the money. It is well built and relatively easy to assemble. It is very powerful and generates lots of heat. It is a gas guzzler and runs through the propane pretty fast. Flame is adjustable and you can turn it down a little to save gas. I have another, infrared patio heater than is almost as powerful and uses less propane. It did cost a lot more than this one.

We had these outside this past weekend at 28 degrees and they held their own. They were plenty hot. Don't sit too far away as the heat only travels so far. Assembly was not bad. The most difficult part was the aluminum top. Those sucked to screw together. I'm sure someone has a trick on how to do it more efficiently that I did. Keep a spare tank or 2 around as the propane freezes. Not a product issue, just how propane works.

Easy to assemble. Seems to be quality metal so hopefully won't see any rust. It throws out a lot of heat and warms you up if you are standing. If you are sitting you don't benefit as much. I cut off 12" of the vertical tube. That helped a lot for those sitting around the heater. I get about 4 hours of use from a 16lb tank. Wish they would fill the propane tanks to 20lbs like they used to. Fairly easy to wheel around.

Went together in about 2 hours. You need some tools pay attention to the instructions. Read the previous reviews re: the hood assembly. It really helped.. The commercial unit is put together much better with no edges to cut your self. Example my brother-in--law need stitches in his hand from a wound suffered while moving the cheaper version. Remember an AA battery for the ignition and your good to go. Safely tip remove any umbrella from a dining table you intend to heat. At the least you will melt it . At the worst you are going to have one hell of a fire.

Everything came in one big box very well wrapped and protected. The instructions booklet was right on top. The instructions were well written and very easy to follow. Additionally, there were several instruction sheets with various parts included in the box that provided additional details in the assembly process. Overall this was an easy assembly process that took about 1 hour 15 minuets to assemble. Once assembled I was able to start it on the first try without any problems. The heater works well and puts out some serious heat. Overall, this product was well packaged and easy to assemble and worked exactly as indicated on the information provided on the Amazon App where I purchased it.
