While it's funny to read the wildly varying comments, I'll just say that I'm very happy to have scored this Amazon bargain! I've been buying small packages of fireballs for years and years, and often have run out of the delicious morsels. Sure... I've broken a tooth on them before, but I just can't give them up. This five pound bag is simply life's answer to your fireball dreams! It's probably a two-year supply for me, and the price is less than what I have been paying for a quarter of the quantity. They are the smaller-sized fireballs, but I have never had a preference. I would further say that they are reasonably hot, relative to my decades-long history with fireballs. The heat doesn't last particularly long though, but I have so many now that I don't mind spitting one out when the flavor is gone and replacing it with a new one.

I've bought five lb bags of Atomic Fireballs from various vendors for several years now. You could say I'm addicted to them and always have to have a supply on hand. They were always "ordinary" i.e. you get past the candy coating shell, hit the "good stuff" layer where the heat is, then suck on the hard nougat candy which is nothing to write home about until it is gone. Needing to fill in another item so as to get the free shipping I ordered this five lb bag from Amazon. Holy Moly! What a difference! You go thru steps one and two, hit the hard nougat for a few seconds, then BOOM! There is another layer of heat! I have purchased this brand of balls before from other vendors and did not notice this, so don't know if it was a one time mistake for these purchased from Amazon, but I sure hope it continues!

Atomic Fireballs are a true candy classic for spice lovers and hard candy lovers. These are absolutely delicious and lower in calories as well for those who are trying to lose weight while still enjoying sweet treats that they love! It certainly isn't the hottest candy, but the taste is superb and it has enough spice to make you tear up a bit if you pop 2-3 in at a time. You can pop one of these in when you are intermittent fasting too, to help with the hunger pangs.

I love this candy and been eating it for decades. I was down to eating the knock off ones as it was getting harder to find the original ones in stores. I'm so glad I found it in bulk on Amazon! These are the true Atomic Fire Balls. They are a true jawbreaker, staying hard to the center. These are the smaller ones, 3/4", which I don't mind. One thing I do find buying in large batches is the inconsistency of "heat" in each of the balls. Some will be really hot (which I love) and some will be mild. I don't mind this as the overall taste of the candy is good (unlike the knock offs), but l do admit, I would love if they all had the same "fire"!

There were more than the estimated 150. Great. The size isn't as big as they once were, but the flavor is good and they are hot. The individual candy wrappers were sticky. I'm not sure why, but each candy was sealed. I poured the candy on the table and waited a couple days. The wrappers were no longer sticky, so it's all good. As long as the candy was fresh, I saw no reason to return them. The only thing that could make them better, is to make them bigger.

Love em’! Nice and fresh. Price was reasonable. The grocery store where I used to live sold them in bulk at $1.99/lb. or $1.59/lb. if I caught them on sale. ****New addition to my previous review***** I’ve ordered these 3 times from the same seller. My first 2 orders were wonderful (although the second order had a mix of large and small sizes within the same package). My third order was horribly stale. After the outer layer (where all the hot is) had dissolved (in a VERY short time) the inner portion just crumbled. Unfortunately, I was outside the return limit when I realized the entire batch was bad. I’m undecided if I’ll order again seeing as I’ll be throwing away 5 lbs. *****Another addition to my previous review******* I did buy these again, for a fourth time. They were either stale or there was a manufacturing problem. The centers were, again, crumbly - like soft powder. This isn’t “normal” fir ant type fire ball. These are the only ones I’ve ever had that did this and it was only two bags our of four.

Other reviews suggest not everyone gets the same thing, but I got the genuine stuff. These are 3/4" in diameter, and with the classic fireball hot cinnamon flavor. The label says the flavor is artificial, but my taste buds couldn't tell. The outside is dark red and doesn't have the hot flavor, but once that is off, the heat hits. These are good! Well, they are good if you like hot cinnamon. They came in the plastic tub with the replaceable lid. If you care, they are 30 calories each and are supposed to be about 150 in the tub. Great value for not much money.
