I’m really pleased with this bookshelf and think it’s very reasonably priced. The directions were very easy to follow, and all the tools came in individually sealed baggies labeled by letter so there was no confusion when putting it together. Took me and one other person about 30-40 minutes. Sturdy materials, nice wood coloring, looks just like the pictures! If you follow the directions and don’t tighten all the screws until the very end you won’t have problems with alignment… but the directions tell you this about 50 times so it’s hard to forget lol. The only not so aesthetically pleasing piece is the straps you have to use to anchor it to the wall… but not a huge biggie- better to be safe. Beautiful complement to an office and can’t wait to decorate mine with books and trinkets! ... show more

This is an amazing bookshelf that isn't too difficult to assemble (the items can get heavy). The instructions are clear and easy to follow. I tested this adding a bunch of textbooks to a single shelf and it felt very sturdy; either-way, 150lbs is very hard to pull off with books. I sure some of you will use this for more than just books, but when you hold these long pieces of wood you right away feel how incredibly sturdy they are. The fact that there is another support in between the wood makes even MORE sturdy. It looks very nice in the living room as well. I just want to say I LOVE this bookshelf. I am so happy I waited a year to find the perfect book shelf, this was well worth the wait. It is amazing and I really hope this amazon "store" exists forever, or at least until I get everything I want. I was close to buying a 700 dollar book shelf, but thankfully I found this. Much more affordable and nicer. It looks beautiful and leaves plenty of room for books; I am excited to be able to have an excuse to buy more books :) Lastly, I still cannot believe how high-quality this feels. I was intrigued by the design of this shelf. There are dozens of ‘etagere’ style book shelves to choose from on Amazon, but this one caught my eye for two reasons: 1) The shelves support a lot of weight. Many similar style shelves are only capable of holding less than 100lb total. This shelf holds 300lb per shelf. I believe it’s probably about 600lb total capacity, but that’s not documented where I can confirm… 2) The shelves are deep enough for binders. Many shelves are only 9-10 inches deep. These are over 11” deep. After receiving and installing, I’ve noted even more that I like: 3) The shelves are THICK. They look like authentic wood. They’re obviously a faux wood finish, but you wouldn’t know until you touch it. It has a hard plastic feel and an embossed grain pattern. 4) The upright frame elements are one welded element, top to bottom. Unlike many weaker shelves which have a top frame bolted to a bottom frame. This makes it look nicer and also helps with the strength. 5) Similar to vinyl flooring, the wood pattern varies shelf-to-shelf. I had three unique patterns, of which two were repeated but offset some. So all 5 shelves look different. If you look at competitor’s shelves, you’ll notice they have the same pattern on every shelf, which makes it very obvious that it’s not real wood. The pattern variation on this unit is awesome and very convincing. 6) It’s super sturdy. I have no reservations filling these shelves with a couple hundred pounds of books.
