    • Jeans have a terrible chemical smell that doesn't come out with numerous washes

TERRIBLE chemical smell. If I could have given zero stars, I would have. I got the grey jeans and I washed it 3 times each time using detergent, fabric softener AND the new downy un stopables #37 and the smell NEVER left these jeans. Interestingly, I purchased a pair of grey jeans with Fashion Nova, and I had the same terrible chemical smell experience with THOSE jeans, that no matter how many times I washed them, the chemical smell was too much to bear and I had to throw those out. I just looked up what causes newly purchase grey jeans to smell like a strong chemical and the answer has to do with the chemicals (some using formaldehyde) for the dye and to keep mold away etc. To add insult to injury, laundry done after washing the jeans end up having a chemical smell on them as well, as if the chemicals stay in both the washer and dryer for a while, unfortunately affecting your future washes.
