The material is interesting because it’s decently thick, yet remains cool while wearing. I’m a muscular 175, 5-9 (31” waist). First tried a medium, but that was too tight in the mid section. Returned for a large. Sleeves are a little tight at first but stretch as the day goes on. Sleeve and shirt length are both good for me. My only knock is that the body of the shirt is a little boxy, given I have a slim waist with decent sized arms, chest and shoulders. The shirt isn’t listed as fitted though. I don't get hemp, not sure what is for, but it is a cotton blend. Is it stiffer than cotton? Haven't washed it yet, but has a little washed look already out of the package. I'm not an upper body guy, but I feel like the arm holes are a little small. I hope they stretch a bit. Shirt goes far enough below my belt line but maybe just a little short to actually tuck it in which I wasn't planning. It's light enough for summer, maybe end of spring or early fall with layers. I haven't gotten a plain white shirt in decades, and I'm ok with this one with no expectations. ... show more

I was on a mission to find a new basic black T-shirt that was a step up from average while still being priced reasonably and fitting comfortably. Sounds simple, but you'd be surprised how many shirts have odd sizing or material blends. This one's great! The fit is exactly as expected; it's not too short, and it's comfortable without being too loose or tight. The fit is pretty much comparable to a 50/50 blend T-Shirt by Next Level or Bella+Canvas. I'm still kind of undecided on whether I really like the material? It's an unusual hemp/cotton blend, and at first glance it feels a bit stiffer and more substantial than I'm used to in my shirts. I ended up finding it fairly flattering, though, as the shirt keeps a bit of shape as it moves and doesn't cling to every nook and cranny. It's definitely not scratchy against my skin, and it remained comfortable during a full day of wear when I was moving around and sweating under a full outfit. The brand is unobtrusively placed on the inside neck of the shirt, so no worries about tags or other intrusions. Overall, I really enjoy this shirt. I think I might enjoy a version that was slightly cheaper that was a poly/cotton blend instead of a hemp/cotton blend even more, but that doesn't detract from this becoming my new go-to basic black tee in my closet. ... show more
