I had a model similar to this only in white. It was ok..but I had to buy a good (better) diagonal, and even with my high end eyepieces, it didn’t give me any better views than my reflector which I got for under 4 hundred dollars from GSO. I have found that Explore scientific is the most overpriced outfit in the business ( for what you get) lines like tele vue and Stellarvue are very pricey but there you get great optics. You can expect the royal run-around if you ever have a problem or need warranty service. On two separate occasions the same agent (Wade) did not return emails or reply to voice mails. Once they know your number they stop answering your calls. So help requests were ignored, and then I get an email asking if I had any other concerns which still has not been answered. This is the epitome of bad service. Explore Scientific is not honoring their warranty promise. The view is very nice, but the focuser and the diagonal should be much better at this price point. Try your eyepiece in the diagonal and then put the eyepiece directly into the refractor and you will know what I mean. BTW, they do not have a manual available either. Bottom line is right now I have a $4,000 paper weight. ... show more
