  • Really, really good
Clear and detailed instructions, with lots of tips that are usually forgotten like how to position you hands and wrists for each exercise. I started with a digital copy on my iPad to try it out cheaply, but this impressed me enough I want it as a physical book now. You can definitely tell the author is a physiotherapist - she doesn’t ignore certain muscles just because they’re not important to appearance or lifting strength. Even the weird little muscles you don’t usually think about get some exercise, which can definitely help how your body functions and feels. After doing the upper body and chest/back workouts I can feel a pleasant ache in every little muscle around my shoulder blades, and I had no idea there were so many of them! My posture is already improving. One minor drawback of that book is that it makes no suggestions about what length of resistance loop to use. They come in various sizes from 8 inches to 18 inches. Some exercises need a band of 8-12 inches to get decent resistance, and others definitely need something longer than 12 inches if you’re going to follow her safety instruction to not stretch any band to more than 2.5x its length. You can figure it out as you go, but it would have been nice if the book had given recommendations for band lengths. Another minor drawback is that the Kindle version sometimes has weird formatting that doesn’t keep the exercise pictures and instructions together. You might get one page with the instructions for exercise B and the picture for exercise C, then the next page with instructions for exercise C and pictures for exercise D, etc. But those drawbacks are minor, and worth putting up with. This a fantastic book, and definitely one I will use regularly. ... show more

  • Uses loop bands only, as stated in title! Great book!
I like the fact that the title says the exercises are with loop bands, and unlike some other such books, no other equipment is added in! All you need are the loop bands and maybe a chair leg, which is easy to find. Lots of good exercises which are clearly illustrated and explained. I am very happy with this book. It will be one of my main exercise books from now on (I rotate through a few different routines). ... show more

  • Essentially ok but not great
Although each exercise states the muscle group targeted, it lacks specific details as to what part of the muscle is being worked. Diagrams are not actual photographs. Not as many exercises and less details than other books.

  • wanted to get started with resistance loops, good start
i wanted to try out resistance loops. they're inexpensive, don't take up much room, portable, easy to use. needed a book to show me the basics on how to use them, and how not to hurt myself. very good book, plenty of exercises to keep me busy, easy to understand text and pictures, nice explanations. inexpensive (was as cheap as my bands). happy with my purchase and can recommend this to other people looking to use their loops. ... show more
